A contemporary casual restaurant that specializes in intimate seating. We believe a TREAT is different for everyone! We offer a dining experience that satisfies your cravings and dietary restrictions. We serve cooked to order comfort food, fine wine, domestic or craft beer, and handcrafted cocktails. We and restaurants worldwide have endured constant changes to the dining rules we've always known. In the process, we have been shifting focus to smaller groups and highly suggest calling to make reservations. The food is very good but the service leaves a lot to be desired. When seated at a table hope that you are not also being served by the girl that is acting as the bartender. The food is exceptionally good but the waitress that double as bartender is more interested in socializing with the people at the bar. Had great difficulty with getting refill on unsweetened ice tea and a glass of wine. Then after finally getting her attention to bring our check she went back to the bar and proceeded to spend another 15 minutes talking and having a good time with the people at the bar before bringing our check and then another 10 minutes to return with the visa bill to sign. Absolutely no excuse for such poor service. Food is good but service is greatly lacking will think twice before returning. Additional note it was a 6pm reservation on a Thursday at which time they were only about 1/2 full. The wait staff at the other tables were much more attentive. Many decades ago when I was in college I worked as a waiter in a private members only restaurant and would have been fired if I performed so poorly. My wife says I am too critical due to my history but simple good service is all I require and it was lacking.

We have been going to Treat since it opened years ago. We have seen it evolve and grow and it is one of our favorite places in the USA! The atmosphere is very fun and unique (love the painted floors by Lulu) and the staff is wonderful. The owner has done a great job of staffing her restaurant with wonderful individuals who truly care about making an experience a great one for it's customers. The menu is relatively small but we love that. It has something for everyone without being too overwhelming. We love the polar plunge and shrimp apps as well as the fish and chips and several of the other entries. They have a great selection of wine and signature cocktails. This is a must stop whether you live in the area or are just passing through.

This restaurant was recommended to my wife by someone she knows. We were attending a show in the area and looking for a nice place to have dinner beforehand. This is a quaint, little restaurant in downtown Morganton. It was recommended for us to have a reservation in advance. We were promptly taken to our tables and our waitress greeted us asking if we had been there before. Since we had not, she let us know that everything is made from scratch and when ordered. There is nothing par cooked in advance. We asked for some recommendations, which she recommended the Polar Plunge appetizer (a four cheese dip, fig\cranberry compote, sweet potato chips, and bread), the spinach quiche, as well as the Chicken Parmesan. The marinara sauces in made in-house with an old Sicilian family recipe.
We ordered the Polar Plunge as our starter, and it was amazing. For our entrees, my wife ordered the spinach quiche with side salad. The quiche was very thick, seems like it was almost 2" deep. It was as good as our waitress had described. Since I like spicier food, I ordered the Kickin' Noodle Bowl with shrimp added for my meal. All of the food was delicious, very nice portion sizes, and the service was wonderful. They also have a full bar and nice wine list. The only downside was that we did not have any room for dessert. We will have to return another time and make sure we have dessert. We will definitely be making another visit to this location.

The space is lovely with unique decor. It’s in old town Morganton which is nice. The service was really bad. I’m not sure if they were short handed but it took at least 20 minutes to get our drink order which were not that great. We had to ask twice for a cooler for the wine and more ice for our drinks. Our reservation was for 8pm and we received our food at 9:15ish. The pork shank was delicious, however, they ran out of mashed potatoes so we had pasta Alfredo which was good but barely warm. The bread was delicious. The experience was disappointing.

The food was great, as was our waiter, Ben. The brussel sprouts with goat cheese and garlic were an interesting new take on these green cruciferous vegetables. Piccadillo was also good though I think it had a bit too much cumin. I loved the wham bang shrimp pasta and the portion size was good for a big man.
Beware if you are gluten intolerant that they do at this time use a shared fryer for the brussel sprouts, tostones and others and the Teriyaki dishes do contain soy sauce. The manager assured that they are trying to fit a second fryer which would be wonderful. I do wonder if they have new owners because while they definitely attempt to accommodate the gluten intolerant there seems to be fewer options than we noted on previous menus. If you are careful and don't power through (as did my wife) you can be ok eating here.

The food was unbelievably outstanding, with preparation and presentation at a perfect level. The restaurant is beautiful. We unfortunately were at the restaurant during a children's party. Odd place for a children's event, but most patrons made the best of it. Some left quite early because of the noise level. We were incorrectly charged for our drinks which added up to quite a bit. I should have addressed the issue, but was just ready to go.

The ambience in the restaurant was very nice. Upscale yet friendly and casual. The staff seemed attentive but not overly quick. I enjoyed talking to the bartender who apparently is also a pilot. Made for a nice conversation. I tried the uptown downtown curry which was insanely hot but pretty good. I had a Caesar salad and a double chocolate torte to finish off. I will definitely go back again. I probably wouldn’t order the insanely hot curry dish.
Server was named Sadie. She was very sweet. A young girl. Seemed enthusiastic and very courteous.

This was our first visit here since we aren't from the area. We absolutely loved it! Had the pork shanks- delectable! Had the filet, mashed taters and fried brussel sprouts. I love brussel sprouts and had never had them fried. They were delicious! All in all...amazing visit!! Loved it

We had a wonderful dinner at Treat! We had a private table for two. The decor was beautiful and romantic. I had the salmon and my husband had the burger, both were delicious. Cocktails and dessert were fabulous too. All staff were super friendly. Look forward to visiting again in the future.

Treat, in my opinion, is by far the best restaurant in Morganton and surrounding area. Their chef is excellent; their service is excellent and the ambiance is excellent! Dont be disappointed if you walk in and they are full so make reservations!

So we walk up to the hostess stand on a Wed night and the place appears about half full. She asks table for 2? No we are just going to grab a seat at the bar if that's ok? No I am sorry we reserve that and its currently on a wait.... Hmmm there were 5 empty seats. Ok we are hungry so what are the options? Well we can seat you over here if you can wait until 7:15 to order any food (45 min from then) Ok you win we shall do that! OR you can go to the bar and order a drink until someone comes, but no food ok? Just give us the table I guess....After that weirdness a super nice waitress took or order almost immediately and we had a fantastic Caesar salad and an unexpectedly amazing chicken parm with homemade sauce! So go there as the food was really good, but ownership should get involved and let people sit wherever they want. We literally dine all over the globe. The bar is where you make your money and it is FIRST COME first serve everywhere, but here. My wife and I laughed the whole way back to the house, but again they do make great food based on the sampling we had.
