Well This is just a wonderful little place. The food was delectable! Good size portions, you can even get seconds on the side orders. When traveling East or West on Interstate 40, take the Morganton, NC Exit and head toward Rutherfordton, NC. Casual, slow-paced good ol' fashioned breakfasts. Scenic drive on US 64 from Morganton to Rutherfordton - take time to walk through the renovated schoolhouse and small shops!

When you eat at Pilot Mtn. Coffee Shop, you expect "the Fonz" to coming walking in. The place is decorated so cute - looks just like a 1950 soda shop. This coffee shop is about 7 miles from I-40, at the old school on 64 south. They served breakfast and lunch only with specials at lunch. I heard lunch is also great.
