Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I was in the Mars Hill/Marshall area on a cold, rainy Friday afternoon. I was hungry due to not eating all day. I really wanted a hot, fresh cup of coffee. I hadn't dined at the Wagon Wheel since my Paramedic days 15 years ago....There were only a handful of patrons dining since it was nearly 2pm. The waitstaff provided friendly, down-home service. I think they made a fresh pot of coffee just for me. I ordered the "Working Man's Special" (cheeseburger, slaw, and a side). My lunch was served hot and fresh. The tater tots were amazing. I was overwhelmed with the slaw. Not too sweet, not too vinegary. I sat and enjoyed the quiet along with a great cup of coffee.More

I don't understand how a NC health inspector can allow this place to serve food. the walk in was unsealed and filthy and the floor of the kitchen was very nasty. There are dozens of health violations. The staff was very friendly but I will...never eat here again.More

After waiting way too long for a coffee refill, it was sloshed out of the pot and onto my pants. Plate with a biscuit resembled a frisbee as it was tossed onto the table hard enough that the rock hard biscuit fell onto the table.

We ate an early lunch here on a Monday. My husband had the special, which was a bowl of beef stew and a grilled cheese sandwich. The beef stew was good, but not piping hot. It was loaded with big chunks of vegetables and meat....The grilled cheese had not even melted cheese inside, and only one slice. Not a good grilled cheese at all. The other one of us had the very good cheesy potato soup, piping hot and loaded with potato chunks. Friendly service. Not much to look at, decor wise, lots of parking.More

I researched to find somewhere different to eat.The food was good but wasn't what I expected. Covid has caused a lot of changes I guess.I hope to go try it again when things are back to normal.

What a nice find. The staff was so competent and friendly. We had a good, tasty lunch of steak sandwiches. My friend added sweet potato fries and I added tater tots. The half and half sweet tea was a perfectly mixed.

This is our second attempt at home cooking in the area. All I can say is their idea of home cooking and mine are two entirely different things. I write a lot of reviews and usually don't slam a mom and pop shop, but the...fact the words "home cooking" are anywhere near the food we got is a sin. My country fried steak was a 1/4 thick patty that I'm pretty sure came straight off the shelf at Piggy Wiggly. The greens were directly from a can. Pinto beans also directly from a can. Green beans too. Now I have nothing against canned food but any decent cook knows it's got to be dressed up - add some salt, pepper, onion flake, ham, SOMETHING. But nope these were STRAIGHT from a can. My kids shrimp also right from the frozen food section. My cornbread was inedible being hard, dry, and flavorless. Seriously. If you are starving, this is the place for you, but if you are looking for true country style cooking - as they advertise - keep driving.More

Very friendly service, food was good. Had the western omelet. The cheese was a slice of American thrown in top after the fact, however despite that it was still very good. Would suggest cheddar cheese inside the omelet instead if American on top. Outside of...that it was great price, great service and good foodMore

If I could give zero stars I would. First, I’d like to state that I like to eat at locally owned restaurants and support family/local businesses. I will never be returning to this restaurant. I ordered Takeout off of apparently a “years old menu” posted...online and when arriving at the restaurant to find my bill was almost $10 more than the prices online the customer service I received was appalling. Now, the food is even worse than the service. I wish they would have given it all to me raw and I could have seasoned it myself because it’s the only way it would have been salvaged. The steak I ordered medium rare was well done, chewy and ultimately inedible. Nothing had any flavor. The roll tasted like it was days old. Spend your money at Papa Nicks or Stackhouse. Definitely avoid this place.More

Had breakfast early on a Friday morning before our baseball tournament at the university. It was a nice surprise! The breakfast was great, the portions were huge and the prices were even better! Will definitely eat here again when we are back in the area!

We arrived about a minute before closing and were still greeted by a staff member with a smile I think she said her name was Marsha. My crew had been getting take out orders for a week but tonight we wanted to dine in. Service...and food was excellent waitress was very attentive to our needs. Great southern cooking with a feeling of being at home.More
