This restaurant in listed in the National Historic Register and has been going since the 1800's. We ate breakfast here which was very good and the menu is extensive with very quick service. Everything we ordered was tasty (mainly comfort food). The location is unusual in that you can sit in one of 3 counties as it is situated on... More

Love this place! It's a local favorite spot. They serve mainly comfort food, and you can sit in one of three counties in the cozy dining room. We always bring out of town guests here.

Made an impromptu trip to Linville to do a little hiking and the whole drive up I was hoping to lunch here. But I didn't remember (or think) it'd be open on Sun. Thank goodness I was wrong. The hubs had pot roast with 3 vegetables and sweet tea. I had stuffed chicken breast with 3 veg and tea. Our... More

The food is average. Not much seasoning. I have been about 3 or 4 times and have not been impressed nor has the people I have eaten with...Their claim to fame is the location...you are in at least 2 counties.

Man this place is awesome. My wife and I stopped by on our way to the Falls. I got beef tips and she got the French dip sandwich. Both are amazing!

My wife and I had stopped at Linville Falls Winery and she overheard one of the visitors talking with a pourer about a pimento cheese & bacon sandwich and when we asked where it could be had, she said Louise's Rock House so we decided to head there after our tasting since it was lunch time. When we looked at... More

Wonderful homemade food. Fried green tomatoes were delicious for an appetizer. Next time I will try the pie!

We came out of a full day of waterfall and mountain gorge hiking in the dark and were ready to keel over....The road to Linville Falls Community was right there and we were praying for somewhere to eat, and were super lucky to happen into Louis' for a down home big portioned Southern meal! It being a Tuesday night in... More

Rolling through the mountains and after the hike at Linville Falls a meal was in order. Shazam! Louise was right there. Friendly staff and a truly homemade chicken salad and soup. Enjoy!

En route to visit Linville Caverns, my husband and I were looking for a place to have lunch. Restaurants were few and far between on the rural road through this small town. Around a bend, we suddenly came upon the interestingly named "Famous Louise's," so we had to stop to check it out. Famous Louise's Rock House Restaurant is in... More
