We stopped by happenstance as we were traveling north. So glad we did! The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. Good southern food and hospitality. Would certainly stop thru again given the occasion!

Meal selections are made in a cafeteria-style line. They have some excellent southern dishes that I really cannot get back home in Rhode Island, so it was a big treat eating there. The place was clean, homey, and comfortable but not at all fancy and elaborate. My only disappointment is that they are not open as often as I would... More

After visiting the tobacco museum, we stopped at Storming Normans for lunch. We had the pork bbq and my wife had the fried chicken. Both were very good and I have to say it was as good of Eastern bbq that I have had. Plenty of choices of sauce or hot sauce if the vinegar based eastern bbq isn't for... More

Let me tell you that the food is amazing. The pulled pork with that amazing cole slaw was so good. I may never pass that way again but the memories will last a life time. So glad to see this place thrive. May God continue to bless this family..

Best fried chicken around and the BBQ is good too! Country cooking at its best. Prices are reasonable and service is great.

Enjoyed a great chicken dinner at Stormin Norman's! It's a cafeteria style, family owned restaurant that also has dinner specials each night along with their fried chicken, bbq chicken and barbeque. Mom had and loved the barbeque, and I had the dark meat fried chicken plate with boiled potatoes and cole slaw. We all ate for under $10! Great meal... More

I wrote a review quite some time ago that was very critical and for good reason. The food and tea back then was simply not good and often hit or miss on quality, taste, freshness, and temperature. I revisited in the past couple of days and was surprised by the variety of fresh and semi-fresh precooked choices, attentiveness of the... More

We make Stormin Norman's our stop to and from the beach. The BBQ specials and fried chicken are some of the best. The sauce is not too sweet with a good vinegar kick. Most of the sides are scratch made and are equally delicious. The hush puppies are addictive. Say hello to April when you stop in.

Stopped in while traveling on I95. BBQ was cooked just right. Not greasy or fatty. Moist with just enough vinegar flavor. Boiled potatoes, black eyed peas and brunswick stew equally good as well. Stop in and see for yourself!

We're so tired of eating at the franchise restaurants along the highway! We were delighted to find Stormin' Norman's in Kenly, NC. BBQ was tasty, although there wasn't any sauce. Fried chicken was good. Sides were southern traditional-- collard greens, green beans, black eyed peas, in addition to the usual fries, slaw and mashed potatoes. Hush puppies and sweet tea... More
