Yes, if you are on your way to Nags Head or just passing by Jamesville; you must stop at the Cypress Grill. Even if you don't like fish, take a break to have vegetables, or hushpuppies, or the delicious homemade pies (my favorite is coconut)....More

It's a must for those that are into good food and traditional North Carolina history. Remember though, it's only open for a short period of time, so call ahead.

Located in Jamesville, it is about 10 miles on US 64 West, but if you love herring, this is the place to go. Opened only seasonally, it is located right on Roanoke River
