In town for a recognition program at Duke for my granddaughter and we heard about this place. It was crowded on a Sunday evening around 6:00. Parking is at a premium. We had to park across the street. Our family ordered a variety of foods and everyone was pleased! Dishes come with chips, rice and beans. You order at the... More

We come to Durham quite a bit and hadn't tried this place but everyone recommend it. I now see why. We had eaten at their sister restaurant next door, The Shack BBQ. This is a walk up and order type place and they deliver your food to you. Very casual. Smaller place and always busy but worth the wait. We... More

Visited at 11:00 a.m. On Sunday and there was no waiting line. The beef steak burrito that I had was really great and huge. It was cut in half; with the chips and side, I was full after eating just half of the burrito. By noon, people were backing from the counter, to order, all the way to the door.... More

Stopped here for a late lunch - $7 lunch special is a good deal - includes 2 tacos, beans and rice, plus some jicama slaw and other condiments from the salsa bar. grilled fish taco was best, pork, beef and chicken were fine, skip the calamari - very overcooked. Very loud space, could be uncomfortably crowded at times.

The line and wait is ridiculous. Estimate 15 minutes IF you're at the door. On this day, the line backed up to University Drive. If it were not for the Margaritas they were serving to us in line I would've certainly left. It made no sense with the open seating, packed kitchen and extremely small portions of food they serve.... They have found a way to combine authentic Mexican items with a modern flavor. Very popular so there are long lines most of the time. But it truly it's worth the wait

This is an ideal family-friendly diner type facility. You should plan to arrive hungry because the portions are very filling. If you're lucky you won't have to wait long. The food is made to order and if it's a busy night bring a little patience, WELL WORTH IT. Many locals even arrange for carry-out. Average adult meal with drink is... More

Don't understand the poor review of fish tacos. I loved them with the mango-jalapeño salsa, rice and veggie black beans. We were there when very crowded but line moved and seating was available when we got our food. Parking is limited during peak times but will definitely go back next time we visit Durham.

This is going to become a must visit whenever I am in town. Wonderful food, great service, friendly atmosphere, and reasonably priced. Can't say enough.
