Hits it out of the park every time. Great, great food. Fabulous menu -- so many great choices. Caring staff. Wonderful bar. Its a treat every time i go. How many restaurants can you say that about. You are in good hands at Elaine's.

My husband and I dined here for a special celebration, and Elaine's made it special indeed. We both ordered a 3 course price fixed menu that came with our choice of appetizer, entree and dessert along with a wine pairing with each course. We had a wide selection of items in each course category to chose from and each was... More

I have been living in Chapel Hill for a couple of years and every experience on Franklin Street has been a disappointment. Except Elaine's, who proudly put the name of Franklin Street back on the map of good food. Selection of Bourbon is pretty nice, almost as nice as my personal one :). Food was good, well constructed, well presented,... More

My wife and I went to Elaine's for dinner on a cold night in mid December! The restaurant has an intimate cozy feel on the inside as diners shared small candle lit tables. It was nicely decorated for Christmas; and I could see the night's darkness thru a bank of skylights way up overhead. The service was good as a... More

Rainy weeknight, no wait. Not too loud which allowed for conversation. Shared the she-crab soup as the only size is a larger bowl. Had sample of butternut squash soup in cute little cups. Tasted vaguely like curry. Had the grilled scallops with crispy penne. Food portions were good, not the typical obnoxious American sized portions. Friend had the mushroom risotto... More

My meal better than my wife. Server never smiled. Good wine and bourbon selections. Bread and butter good. She crab soup was ok. Could not finish tuna. Simply didnt suit my wife's palate. My venison and pancake appetizer was ok. Duck dish was excellent. Can't say don't try here. A lot of people love it.

Been to Elaine's before on several occasions and the food was always good but this visit it was very, very disappointing. The service was very spotty, we waited at least 15 minutes after being seated before a waiter stopped by to take our drink orders with no mention of the delay. The food was really off, just not good at... More

We went to Elaine's as part of the RSVVP charitable program. Delightful evening! The wine list ranges from quite reasonable to truly pricey. The waitress was attentive without being overbearing in the least. Dinner was well paced allowing us to delight in each course - oysters Rockefeller (yummy), blue cheese wedge salad (only so-so), and great entreees. The duck confit... More

The service, venue, and the food are always outstanding. The menu changes frequently allowing for fresh local food market. It's wise to make reservations as this is a popular restaurant.

We enjoyed our meal of Lobster and Pork Bell and one of Tuna Grilled. Service was very good, staff was most gracious and our experience was good; but we actually expected a little more. Good but not our favorite!

Thank Richard L
