When you are hungry and don't know what you want, this is always a good option. Fried fish is always fresh, love the fried chicken and other your momma's kinda cooking, aka comfort food at its best.

When you talk about Southern cooking, you will immediately think of their fried chicken, fried fish, or ham. Combine with creamed corn, potatoes, or fried okra and a chunk of cornbread washing it down with sweet tea. Don't forget a slice of pie. They are famous for their pies. Whole pies are for sale, especially during the holidays.

I've been eating at this K&W since the 1980s. It seemed much better--and more crowded--then. The lack of long lines is good for the customer but indications are that there are fewer customers, perhaps due to the decline in food. I used to find lots of options to please me. Lots of veggies. Many seem to be replaced by potato... More

The food is good but nothing special. The staff are average.A major negative for me is that they only have Hunts ketchup and i only like Heinz.

I have often eaten lunch at the K&W in Chapel Hill, since it's right down the road from where I work. This will be my first review. I have always been impressed by the friendliness of the staff, both behind the food line and the service staff that assists in the dining room. The food is always fresh and is... More

Terrific food, fast lines, clean tables and floors, wide selections. Refills frequent, southern style veggies. Not big on kale, tofu, quinoa, or other exotic , trendy fare. Most everyone also loves the desserts, (I can't have them), huge meat and salad selections, I counted 14 choices today just of the meats. Great place, please support it. Bob Ross

We went here because friends who live in the area swear by it. I was initially put off by the outside appearance - it's in a shopping center area, and is in a fairly utilitarian looking building. Function over form, let's put it that way. Well, smack me with a wet collard green, how wrong could I possibly be? It... More
