We searched Yelp and this place was highly rated...WHY? This is not a true BBQ joint. When I initially pulled up I knew that I should have turned around because the place did not smell of "QUE' and it was more like a diner. They...More

I grew up in Chapel Hill but moved away years ago, before The Pig opened. But every time I visit I make it a priority to eat there -- I think it has the best BBQ in town and everything else I've tried there has...More

The Pig offers East Carolina chopped barbecue (dry rub and vinegar based sauce - not like Memphis or KC). They also have some other interesting choices like country fried tofu and BBQ tempeh. I ate at the bar and when it came time to order,...More

Best pulled pork I have had in years. It has no antibiotics, and is tender moist and served naked with no sauce. A few sauces on the table from sweet to vinegar, but the flavor stands on its own. We tried the carrot sweet coleslaw...More

Great place for authentic and high-quality BBQ, would definitely recommend ahead of all those horrible chain restaurants pretending to offer the real thing. This is a no thrills place that delivers on the food, big portions, tasty and by reasonably priced.

Visited The Pig with some work colleagues after reading some good reviews. It's a bit out of town but we took a chance. Had a "hole in the wall" feel to it which I usually enjoy. I had the ribs which came with slaw, cucumbers,...More

The place has no ambiance. The guy behind the counter needs an attitude adjustment. We never had been and we wanted try different things... Trying was order of the day. We ordered and told us we had to much food and wouldn't let us order...More

We discovered The Pig a month or so ago and have been there three times since. I guess that in itself is a good indication that we really like it. They have excellent pulled pork, at least I think it's well above average. The sides...More

The food at The Pig is very good, but very salty, even by the high salt standards of the south. Enough said about the salt, but we would go back over and again if it the salt were cut in half. The ribs are the...More

I believe it is Lonerider Shotgun Betty Hefeweizen. I'd call The Pig just to be sure. The website for the brewing company is Loneriderbeer.
