In town on business and was looking for some Caroline BBQ while in Chapel Hill. Chose The Pig on fellow Trip Advisor reviews and took a couple colleagues with me. We had the pulled pork, smoked chicken and brisket. Sides ranged from the Brussel sprouts, to potato salad, to fries, to coleslaw, to fried okra. All in all, the food... More

We went to The Pig with my daughter and her family, including 3 young children. It is very casual. You order at the counter and they bring your food to you. You can eat inside or out. It us not a huge place so you want to be careful on weekends or you may have to wait for a table.... More

As I have gotten a little older, I have frankly been a little pickier with BBQ. While most BBQ places in North Carolina do a fine job with pork butt/shoulder, other items have been at times a little ambitious or disappointing. My family and I tried The Pig for lunch (after wanting to go there for some time). I was... More

Have been to The Pig a few times and it has always been very good. I think one of the best for BBQ/ brisket.

Visited the Pig with our family while on a college tour. I had one of the best BBQ meals I've eve had, and I have BBQ across the country. The meat was moist and really flavor filled as were the sides. I had a creative dish - the Kosher Pig (BBQ brisket and beans over latkes) - and the rest... More

As repeat customers at THE PIG, my buddy and I got a pork cheek sandwich with pickles and several sides: fried okra, hushpuppies, Brussel sprouts. The cheek sandwich was a mess, but in a good way- strips of meat kept falling out of the bun, taking jalapenos and cilantro with them. The meat was unctuous and flavourful and very, very... More

Stopped in for lunch yesterday by chance and are so glad we did. With a name like "The Pig" how could you go wrong! This is a little place with seating in and outside. The aroma coming from the kitchen is a version of heaven smokey and sweet. They have a regular menu but specials up on a chalkboard. My... More

I ate at the Pig yesterday on at least my 8th or 9th visit for lunch; sadly, as much as I don't want to , I have to give it a low two stars. I appreciate that they are a strange niche BBQ with a menu unlike what you will see at other places and I want to like it,... More

First and foremost, the BBQ--which I would give a 4 on its own. It was solid, with a mild smokey flavor and a nice touch of vinegar (with more on the table). Being born and raised in Eastern NC, and while it is good, it would not crack my top 5 (Skylight Inn/Sam Jones; B's; Wilbur's; Moore's (Original one in... More
