A very standard American breakfast. The staff have always been pleasant and wonderful. It's a Chapel Hill classic, as it's been around for decades and has a routine clientele. If you're looking for a good, straightforward American breakfast in Chapel Hill and want something simple and old school, a pretty good place to go. Nothing special about their food, but... More

Charming little diner style restaurant. Excellent omelets and waffles. Found while traveling through on vacation. Highly recommend.

At the advice of some others on TA, we were steered here for breakfast while visiting University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. I expected the typical college breakfast haunt but I guess had higher expectations than what was delivered. Can't say it was a bad choice; just sort of nondescript. For those thinking this might be a restaurant, it's more a... More

We come here regularly and the food is consistently good. The staff are so nice. The owner is even there most weekends. We bring all of our out of town guests here. Yum!

I brought my daughter here for a family breakfast and was highly disappointed. I would like to say that it's a little better then "the Waffle House" but that would be a bold faced lie. The waffles are flat and the greasy hash browns were partially cooked. Plus the manager was absolutely clueless... By the way, I told the waiter... More

Ye Olde has good breakfast basics. Nothing too fancy, but a nicer diner than a Waffle House. The omelets are particularly good. I was recently surprised to see that their prices had risen fairly dramatically with no change to menu. They are even charging for milk to put in coffee (creamer still included)! I don't appreciate feeling nickel and dimed,... More

Stopped in while at UNC to p/u my daughter and her friends from a sports camp and was told they needed pancakes for lunch, so YOWS was our destination and we were not disappointed! We sampled their pancakes, plain & M&M (amazing), waffles, french toast and I opted for their Turkey Club. All very good. Great smells and small college... More

If you want a classic diner experience on Franklin Street, check this out. Sit at the counter, in the booths or in the back-. Sunday lunch during school can mean a line after church lets out but its well worth the wait.

I have been here about five times, as this is always my family's choice in breakfast. The m&m pancakes are amazing, the biscuits are amazing, the sausage is amazing. Eat here, you won't regret it!
