Particularly after only one meal, but I had the fried oysters. Nice crispy almost tempura like breading, but inside, they were practically empty, with little wisps of off-tasting oysters scraps. I ate about half of them before I just had to give up. My partner didn't care for his fish sandwich either. I wouldn't have eaten here if I'd read... More

A visit for lunch resulted in a variety of meals from crab cakes and chili to hot dogs and salad. Good quality food and good staff. The physical appearance needs some attention, but the place has heart and lots of potential.

We had super fried trout and great smoked trout appetizer. Atmosphere was dated and seating was uncomfortable. People were nice.

Staff was helpful and worked quickly to take our orders, prepare our food, and serve us. Menu had many options for our group - 3 generations of family members. Highly recommend the broiled trout with mashed potatoes and slaw.

Okay first impression was a little less than desirable ... but we traveled through the doors anyway into the empty restaurant on Mother's Day. Order at the door and then go sit down. Okay ... ish. The empty tables were still dirty from the night before, you know, ketchup stains, sticky stuff. But we slid in and I went and... More

Take if from a seafood lover: the trout was fresh, filleted well and broiled to perfection! Would have preferred more elegant surroundings and wait staff; but cannot complain about the food. I would come back for that trout!

This restaurant was one of the worst I have ever been to. We waited 45 minutes to an hour for our food. I ordered a "fried flounder sandwich w/cheese and tartar sauce". I was served cheap, freezer-burned flounder on a stale hot dog bun, with one slice of cold Kraft cheese, and no tartar sauce because they "ran out". The... More

There are plenty of upscale and chain places to eat in Blowing Rock...but for a down and dirty local dining experience in town...this fits the bill. Despite it's name, there is plenty of table fare if fish is not your game. Rustic interior with nice patio dining option if it's not too cold. Decent food and pricing...friendly service...no regrets. We'd... More

We hit the Speckled Trout after trying a couple of places up the street that had atrocious wait times. We were worried since the place was almost empty, but it worked out well. The chef came out and recommended the trout, which some of us got and everyone liked it. The restaurant is mid range, casual atmosphere.
