Good place for cheap lunch or dinner. I'd say the food is average at best, nothing to right home about but the prices are fair.

Was on the road on the way to pisgah brewing company for a concert and stopped in on cinco de mayo thinking it was only right. Was happy to find such a yummy little gem unexpectedly! The service was great, and the food came out fast and hot even on cinco de mayo!! My fish bowl Margarita was delicious and... More

The best thing is the staff's cooperation if you have a large party and need to rearrange tables or reserve the patio for a birthday party. The food sometimes tastes pre-packaged and sometimes like a real chef is doing business in the back. I have a hard time imagining the kitchen area since a cockroach made its appearance in the... My husband and I decided to try out this "whole in the wall" type restaurant as we were passing through. Bad mistake, with one bite into my burrito I noticed a funny taste and asked my husband to try it...we both agreed the taste was similar to the smell of a dead animal on the side of the road. We... I live down the mountain but this has to be the worst Mexican restaurant in WNC. Save your money for the gas to get to Papas and Beer on Brevard Road.

The outdoor seating is very nice. There is a bubbling creek with a footbridge nearby that is a really nice touch (I believe the creek goes all the way to Montreat but I'm not sure). The service staff are excellent and very friendly. But, the bottom line is the food, isn't it? The food was just the typical Americanized mexican... More

No, it isn't right as a 47-year resident of Mexico to judge the food of a Mexican restaurant in North Carolina. I never should have eaten there, but it was raining and the place was near my motel. I found the margarita of a generous size, but watery and tasteless. I ordered chicken tacos, a favorite of mine, but found... More

I'm visiting friends in the Black Mountain. They took me for Dinner last night for -- of all things -- Mexican food at Las Cazuelas on State Street. We were a group of nine, and everyone enjoyed their meals. The service was outstanding -- I didn't hear our waitress say 'no' to anyone's request. She told me that they would... More

This was a delightful find! The service and staff were Mexican and spoke Spanish almost exclusively. They did manage to answer our questions and understand our orders, but it was an interestingly authentic experience. They had Spanish TV on the stations. But the food was outstanding. Completely fresh; it was just diced and chopped and had a wonderful flavor. Lots... More
