We shared the grilled pompano, lechon kawali, banana heart salad and rice with shrimp paste, all were really good. The real treat for me was the ube shake. I will go back for that! We also had the trio dessert to cap our meal. The service was good. The only thing that marred the experience was a group of 20... More

Used to love Payag but noticed since last week the servings got less. I think with the amount of what's charged, paying for less food:( The only descent restaurant of its kind it is disappointing that I may not visit this restaurant anymore. I'll settle for more food for the money so I have to go back to the original... More

I like their food. Very tasty. Staff are friendly. The place inside is decorated with filipino culture in mind. I like their lechon kawali, grilled pork. Theyre pricey though.

We (3 people) arrived at almost 3 pm and there was just one couple having their meal. It took more than half an hour for them to serve the food and I had to remind them to at least serve the appetizer as we were getting really hungry. When the appetizer came, the entrees followed right away. The place is... More

We went in a large group on Friday night and the evening was full of hits and misses. Some of the food was amazing (grilled fishes, fried pork) and other dishes were just really not great (sweet and sour fish, eggplant patties). Keep in mind that on Friday nights there is a music concert and it's a loud affair but... More

Payag Restaurant serves Filipino cuisine. It is nothing spectacular but they try to satisfy one's craving for the Asian flair. You can hold parties in the basement and it can accommodate at least 150 guests. Service is good. The location is right by the 52nd Street subway station. You will not miss it as soon as go down the stairs... More

Our group of 10+ ate here on a Friday evening around 7:00. The space was less than half full when we arrived but filled up quickly with the anticipated impending arrival of that evening's live entertainment. We didn't stay to for it, but I hear it's a pleasant experience. Being my first time indulging in Filipino cuisine I kept it... More

Well, the decor, ambience and place were quite good enough for Filipino atmosphere. The food, bulalo steak and soup, Mahi with tausi, tortang talong with its good presentation, pancit sotanghon & langka sa gata- they're all taste good. The service, we came at about 1 o'clock in the afternoon- few tables and we stayed almost 2 hrs. because it's not... More
