Every time we come to Rottnest, which is several times a year, we get a Bacon and egg burger, BLT burger and 2 flat white coffees in the morning. They are consistently excellent!!! The buns are so delicious and coffee perfect.
Service is always friendly, very efficient and they're sustainably conscious with packaging. Our favourite place to eat at Rotto.

The Lane is one of the best cafes on the island, catering for most peoples dietary requirements. They make great coffee and also have alternatives milk options for those who want them. The food is great and reasonably priced, with the staff being very friendly and up for a chat, which makes visiting a great experience. They have a good selection of cold drinks, such as iced-coffees, milkshakes and smoothies. The breakfast selection is good, as are their healthy snacks available in the display case next to the checkout.

We had heard about the cray dogs and once confirmed that they were still on the menu, we went straight there from the ferry landing. The cray dogs were a perfect sized roll of delicious crayfish, mixed leaves and special jalapeno mayonnaise. Well worth the wait and I wish we'd gone back for another the next day instead of dining somewhere else that was less satisfying

We'd returned from the Rottnest Express 90-minute Adventure Boat tour at about 1pm and having been thoroughly soaked (it was a very rough sea), we looked like a pair of drowned quokkas. We had a 6.15 dinner booking at char Char in Fremantle so we just wanted something light for a late lunch. The people on the boat trip were insistent that we try a cray dog so we squelched our way up the hill from the dock to the cafe. The general area around the cafes, bakery etc is a bit grotty and rather unimpressive and we were quite underwhelmed by the quokkas which linger around tables and people's feet in their almost zombie-like quest for scraps. We sat out the front of the cafe just long enough to eat and then headed off to look at the nearby accommodation. I was reminded of old abandoned film sets. What a dump but the beach setting is great and I understand that major renovations are due to start soon. Our son raves about Rottnest Island but he stays further away at a resort and is there now as I type this about a month after our day trip.
The cray dogs were tasty but expensive at $24 each.

My daughter and I ordered the smashed avocado with spinach, cherry tomatoes and feta on sour dough. My daughter also asked for an egg. The meals came out in small cardboard containers. The sourdough was tiny and only had a small amount of avocado, hardly any feta and no cherry tomatoes. The spinach was 3 small leaves and it also had 2 slices of tomato (instead of the cherry toms). A fried egg was plonked on top ! The cost for one with the egg was $15 which was a joke ! We complained immediately and the restaurant staff did the right thing and refunded our money to us. I have to say though, the coffee here is excellent.

Great food at a decent price. I ordered the Haloumi and pumpkin salad with a small coffee. The salad was amazing and if I was to return to Rottnest island I would definitely return for this salad. They do takeaway so I sat beside the ocean with a wonderful view while I ate lunch.

The coffee at the lane is without a doubt the best on Rottnest Island! The girls in the cafe are always so lovely and deliver the best customer service. I highly recommend trying their toasted pumpkin and chocolate slice.

Been coming here for ages and it’s been impeccable every time. Staff are super friendly and always make time for a quick chat, and the coffee is hands down the best on Rotto. Meals are simple but decent and the prices are fair, considering the location and all. Will definitely be back, probably tomorrow.
Special mention to Nic who always manages to cheer everyone up.

Highly recommend this little cafe at Rottnest. Always busy but they get through the queue very quickly and the coffee is worth the few minute wait. The food is fresh and delicious. I highly rated the food and beverage but even more so the staff are very friendly and made our morning with their smiles and kindness.

I have been visiting this Cafe for a couple of years as I’m a regular visitor to Rotto. ALWAYS a Great Coffee (weak flat white) and ALWAYS a happy friendly smile to start your day. (If your here for a couple of days they even remember your name and your order). Great food as well (Breakfast wraps) worth a visit for the coffee lover.

After many years of waiting cray fish at a reasonable price. Delicious cray dogs for $20 First class coffee and nice setting overlooking the square. Staff more than friendly great improvement to years in the past.

The lobster roll is a bit pricey but so worth it, really recommend - delicious. Quick service and rather then sit on the patio, take your lunch to the seating area behind the cafe for a beautiful view

Went specifically for the lobster burger. Aka cray dog. It did not disappoint. Like all Rottnest food, the prices are much higher than on the mainland.

We needed breakfast. You can only have fried eggs on sourdough not scrambled or poached. Cutlery cardboard impossible to cut toast with. Mediocre coffee.
