Funny I ordered the steak, mash, vege shown, and it did not look like that, asked for medium got very well done and the mash potato had the consistency of milk could not be picked up with a fork!

WOW - our waiter was Issac whom looked after us so well - knew the menu and also the wine menu and was able to confidently make recommendations when asked! To start with we were warmly greeted by Lane and they had reserved a table...for us beside the fire 🔥, then the menu impressed both with the selection but also when opened it is a screen that lights up! Impressive! We chose garlic prawns and Garlic Bianca Wood fired garlic pizza bread with olive, tapenade, olive oil/balsamic & dukkha to share, followed by Crispy pork belly for Eli and I and Steve had Black Angus eye fillet ….. the meal was soooo good, the best on the Island! No room for desserts 🥲 Thank you Karma for looking after us so so well 💕More

Food was okay but description on the menu was inaccurate. Lamb dish stated that it had vegetables but it didn't. Asked the young waitress who (fairly rudely) pointed to the microscopic leaf (leaves?) of onion underneath the chickpeas. Ordered a side of vegetables which turned...out to be a few strands of broccolini and lots of soggy cucumber but cost $12. Wait staff were prancing around with hands folded behind their backs like they were at Alain Ducasse but unfortunately pretty much ignored us to fawn on a couple of tables of surfers from the World Surf Competition. Same waitress took 10 minutes to process our payment while the 6 of us waited (sigh).More

The food was delicious my husband had the seafood chowder that was to die for. We both had Rack of Lamb yummmyyy. Then we shared a creme brûlée. There was a complimentary entree seafood as a starter. We had a glass of house Shiraz that...was so good. And I said to my hubby if that was the house I wonder what the better wine was like. Very impressive. I would say it’s the best food you would get on the Island. There’s no burgers more fine dining. But not too expensive. Reasonable.More

We dined mid week and ordered the crab linguine and barramundi. Both were delicious and the service was impeccable. The wine list was also very good. The restaurant itself is a more traditional building with lots of Rottnest charm and a lovely vibe. We loved...it and will definitely be returning.More

We were fortunate to be able to make a booking on the first opening of the restaurant for dinner to celebrate my husbands 70th and my grandsons 13th birthday and were not disappointed. At first sight we felt that the menu was very limited and...pricey however when we were served with the starter it was amazing. The main course was even better and we were so pleased with the quality of food served and service received. The manager went the extra mile in everything we had that evening, ending with a lovely sweet served on two separate plates - each engraved in chocolate with name and age, what a lovely touch Riva . Thank you for making this evening so special.More

We ate at Riva one evening during our stay, and have to say that the service was great - very helpful staff. There was a choice of inside or outside dining, and we chose outside. We even had a visit from a couple of quokkas....My partner chose fillet steak and I went with the beetroot risotto. Both were very good. We tried the Purple Rain wine, recommended by the waitress, and it really was purple! Not a bad drop at all. We had a very pleasant meal, and would recommend Riva.More

We ate at Riva for my husband’s birthday and can honestly say it was the best steak we have ever eaten. Tender and so tasty. The seating outside is intimate which makes for a lively atmosphere. Highly recommended

Finally made the time to visit this evening, my only regret is not coming sooner. Complimentary amuse of octopus was beautiful, cooked just tender, not boiled to hell like so many places do. Duck breast entree was phenomenal, duck cooked just right, pickled fennel balancing...out the richness and the sauce was strong enough to compete with the flavours without drowning them out. Mains were exceptional, spaghetti puttanesca was just right, so simple but so perfectly executed. Beetroot risotto was incredibly pretty, minor complaint: the risotto itself was a little on the sweet side and could have used some more salty and sour elements, but on the whole was still brilliant. Portuguese custard tart was delicious as well, nice light finish to a brilliant meal. Hot chocolate was honestly one of the best I’ve ever had, even if it wasn’t the most grown up way to finish a meal. Wine list is extensive and interesting, prices are fair and staff are knowledgeable. Service was beyond reproach, the girl who served us was so friendly and helpful, absolutely a credit to the place. All in all, definitely worth it if you’re on the island, far superior to many of your other choices. Thanks so much guysMore
