Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My partner and I went to Isola for dinner on a Saturday night. We had heard good things, so made a reservation. This has the feel of a well oiled family operation. Service (yes table service) was fast and friendly.
The menu has a mix of pasta, fish and meat options. My partner had the crab linguini and it was simply amazing. I had the fish of the day which was also good. The interior has been made over and the new chairs were very comfy. Tables were spotlessly clean. The new owners have an eye for detail. Prices were reasonable for Rotto ($108 for two mains and wines)
The wait staff were very efficient and supported by a kitchen that had no trouble keeping up with the full restaurant. I can't tell you how refreshing it was to have full table service instead of a buzzing number to go collect your own food.
What a fantastic experience.

The initial reservation was problematic with 3 different Christmas menus and 3 different prices sent through, not as options but as reviewed menu. The website offering was not available on enquiry. Then on the day the finalised menu was not available with 2 dishes substituted. Starters were enjoyable, main pasta and fish was very mediocre and dessert which was one custard profiterole each, was a disappointing replacement for amount paid for the set menu. We also had to make requests for drinks service. There was no attempt at making it Christmas.

The atmosphere was welcoming, the food was delicious, but as it was my partners birthday, we went with her choice of the lamb shoulder for two... When it was put in front of us, I actually had to ask if we had been given the correct meal, as the lamb shoulder was the size of an average shank. As a result, we had about four bites of meat each, as well as a stalk of broccolini, a stalk of asparagus and about two tablespoons of polenta... for $85...
It tasted great, but was very much the same size or smaller than a lot of the standard mains, so we left hungry and had to go home and eat Vegemite on toast to stop the hunger.

We booked the day before. We arrived and eventually we were shown to a very low table with low bench seats. The cousins were dirty and the design of the benches made it quite uncomfortable. It took about 15 minutes for a waitress to come over and she insisted on taking our entire order drinks including mains. The drinks took over 20 minutes to come to the table after the entrees. The meal was good but we left as soon as we finished due to the uncomfortable benches. Would we go back NO WAY.

Fantastic location. Service good. The over all experience expensive for the portion size and quality.
For example the BBQ prawn dish works out to be $10per prawn nice prawns but not worth $10 each . The snapper potato whip is terrible ( cold tuna tasting mash )
Pasta fantastic but no offering of parmesan cheese 🧀 ( True Italians understand) tho kindly was brought some on request.
Desert was lovely perfectly balanced

A very enjoyable experience. The only thing wrong with the prawns is there were only 3. I could have eaten 30. The lobster butter caper sauce was liquid gold, phenomenal. We also opted for the capocollo, which was excellent value and came with some banging focaccia. Next up was the calcio e Pepe pasta, top class. Perfect Al dente pasta, perfect guanciale topped with crispy Parmesan, very good. Chicken cotoletta was also nice.
We finished the meal off with a fabulous peanut butter old fashioned.
The service was attentive but not over cooked.
If you are in Rottnest this is must.

Visited this restaurant when staying overnight on Rottnest. We ordered entree and mains for 3 people. Entrees were served quickly but then we had to wait 1 hour for our mains to be served and this only happened after we asked why it was taking so long. They did offer a complimentary dessert but we were full so couldn't take this up. No other compensation was offered when paying the bill even though they said they would work something out. Food was okay but not worth the cost

Unfortunately the restaurant was closed for dinner when I visited (Tuesday) and I missed lunch service the following day, however staff were very accommodating and offered me a drink and the dessert menu.
The white chocolate Delizia al lampone came highly recommended and didn't disappoint. Dessert for lunch is always a fabulous idea!

Our party of 4 mostly enjoyed our meals here. Quite a limited menu. Pricing is at Island rates and meal sizes do not match the appetite.
We enjoyed our much better value Hotel meals more that also has a friendlier atmosphere.

Hits and misses for us but there is a consistent theme with other reviews. Have everything other than the Cotoletta which was simply terrible which is a shame as I had had it previously and thought it was terrific. Now it’s precooked and deep fried or microwaved before served and so your first bite of is of extremely hot rubber. Pasta was great, View still one of the best and the service good so don’t be put off just don’t have the chicken.

We were warmly greeted upon our arrival and immediately shown our table. We shared the entree calamari. The calamari was lightly dusted and very tasty. The portion was very generous which we both couldn't finish. We then ordered our mains, Porchetto which was the night's special and my wife the entree sized grilled prawns. The Porchetto was outstanding with the pork belly stuffed with Italian sausage and served with mushrooms, broccoli and apple sauce - absolutely delicious. The prawns were BBQ'd and very tasty. All in all a very pleasant dining experience.
The drinks list is extensive and reasonably priced.
We certainly would return.

Amazing food, great service. A group of around 40 of us were greeted with such friendly professional staff. Ice cold drinks and a view to die for, but it didn’t end there. The food and drinks kept coming from very attentive staff and the quality and amount of food was outstanding. A few ‘other’ establishments on the island could learn a thing or two. Well done folks and thanks for the amazing experience.

Without doubt the Food, service and ambience at Isola Bar e Cibo are hands down the best that Perth and Fremantle have to offer. Giovanni the General Manager was a Maestro with his recommendations and the Chef a Magician conjuring up mouthwatering servings of beautifully prepared Rottnest Island Scallops, tender Calamari, Oysters, Exmouth Prawns, Gnocchi, perfectly cooked Swordfish and Insalata. If such great food was available like this in Perth I would be going every week. The last time I had been with friends from the UK in January 2024 we shared the Lamb shoulder and the Florentine steak and again perfectly cooked and tasted beyond.

Not my first visit and it won’t be my last simply because of the lack of options on the Island but this is a hit and miss place. Views are great but you can get them anywhere , the service is great which you would expect but the food is all over the place. Stay away from the Calamari, it’s frozen not fresh so tough and tasteless and the prawns are just a waste of money - 3 prawns @ $29. Our mains were all ok but extremely rich but the wines list is just appalling given we are state blessed with so many wonderful wines to choose from and yet they choose to have European wines that most would never have heard of and you need a second mortgage.
