Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

While booked in at the Auski in Meekatharra, we had occasion to visit someone who was booked into a room off the Commercial Hotel. This is where we should have booked!

We had dinner at this hotel. We all had Chicken Parmigiana and it was huge. We all enjoyed it and would recommend it as a choice of place to eat when in town.

I would recommend this hotel for dinner. Our meals were cooked quite fast, the bar staff and waitresses were friendly and competent. The food was delicious. In particular the vegetables were very fresh, there was a large variety and they were tasty. The fish and...steak was also good.More

Stayed in town overnight and for dinner visited this quaint pub. It had a good vibe with many locals enjoying a drink. We ordered the beef burger and barra burger (with chips) both of which were generous and fresh. They were both reasonably priced and...tasty.More

Has to be the best place in Meekatharra for food - wide variety of choices - you won’t go hungry! Had to have the chicken Parma - bloody awesome! Recommended. Great beers on tap, as well as bottled and full bar available for spirits if...required. Spent the night at the accomodation provided at the back of the hotel!More

We had a nice lunch and it was a quite large portion. Try the fish and chips if you're there. Would recommend this.

Restricted menu on Sunday but still big enough for a good range of items. Typical pub meal, couldn't eat it all. Good steaks. Had no problem with the kids.

What a perfectly cooked steak with a pile of salad and crunchy chips. We were very pleasantly surprised by the service, friendliness and the food at our stop over in Meekatharra.

To be honest we were not expecting much but this place is a little gem, its basic for sure, but it s clean, the bed is awesome, breakfast was included, staff were awesome - so really what more could you ask for ? We stayed...in one of the 'back' rooms, so its a bit away from all the noise - your locked in at night and the gates are opened at 6.30am (don't stress you have a key to get out if you need to). Room rate includes access to a small kitchen area where you can make yourself some breakfast with toast and cereal included. All in all, pretty good for a little remote town. The front bar is a gathering for the locals...all friendly of course and the staff are happy to help with anything you need.More

The Commercial is an old country pub in the best Australian tradition. The main bar is obviously a place for social drinks after work. It is also where you order your meals and when they arrive you can eat them at the bar or take...them through to a separate dining room. The night we called in there was an A.B.C. crew there shooting a documentary on the Goldfields so it was fairly busy. Possibly because of this our food was a bit slow coming but we had nowhere else to go and were happy to sit at the bar and have a drink while we waited. No alcohol for us as we were driving the next day but there is a good selection of non-alcoholic options available. We both had the fish and chips with salad. It was worth waiting for and at $51 for both of us, quite reasonably priced. The dining room is old-fashioned and quite charming with a polished jarrah floor and white tablecloths on all the tables. Cutlery and condiments are on a separate table at the back. This is not the kind of gastro pub a food critic would rave about but it is a friendly and welcoming oasis staffed by friendly people and offering good , honest food at fair prices.More
