Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We drove from Perth to mekatharaa as a stop over on our way to karijini. Jenny was very welcoming & gave us the keys of our 2 rooms and some explanations and off we went quickly before heading to have dinner before the kitchen closes...(7.30pm). The menu has lots of choices and caters for many people and the portions are very large and the food was tasty. The French is French and does the veggies like a ratatuoille so very tasty but might not be for everyone liking if you don't know or not used to this type of cooking. The facilities are very clean and it's very quiet :) pretty expensive though for 1 night but there is nowhere else to stay so happy to have been fed and had a bed and shower and nice service :)More

We had dinner here once while staying at the Auski Inland Motel. As Meekatharra is in the middle of nowhere we did not expect to get such a great meal here. We had Fish & Chips and the Lamb Shank - the lamb was one...of the best meals we had on our trip. We were told that the cook is French. The Auski Motel is definitely the place to have dinner in Meekatharra.More

Wife had booked a family room for the weekend, rooms weren't bad but that's where the "good" ends, I was told by the lady running the hotel that she didn't want my children to "wet the bed" despite my wife and I telling her they...were 7 & 10 several times, as we were settling in she came past to check how many people were in the room, when she saw that it was only the 4 of us she got really defensive when I said "this is a first" she started blabbering on about other guest that have stayed there sharing rooms which had nothing to do with us considering that was our first time in meekatharra and this was with in the first 2hrs, if you're looking for a half decent room with a "manager" with zero hospitality then this is the place for you. Rude, unprofessional, childish & ill-bred is what I left with from Auski and I'm sure their response to this review will fall in 1 or all of these category'sMore

Clean and tidy with the essentials. Tricky to get the water temp right. Really needs a bath mat, two of us slipped coming out to the bathroom.

Thankyou for the tip. There should have been a bath matt rolled up on the bed along with the towels, soap, hair shampoo and face cloth. If these were missing we are sorry for the inconvenience as they must have been overlooked. Regards Simon

Thankyou for your review. If you were to stay in an "Eco Retreat" in a leaking tent with no ensuite, and no meals the rate would be $315, So I dont think our rate here is so expensive.

I live in Meekatharra and often eat out at one of the three venues in town. I have been eating at the Auski for some time now with its various owners. However the last time I visited I was made to feel so unwelcome that...despite being given a table I promptly left. I understand that during busy times it can stressful but that does not mean you give a 'telling off' to customers. As a group of four we passed through for an impromptu dinner and were quickly told off by the lady. As we sat she began again about how its busy and we should think about that in future. In hospitality there are ways of speaking to customers and polite ways of saying I am sorry we are full. That being said the food here is very good and the kitchen staff do well to cater for their guests.More

We arrived in the late afternoon for a one night stay and the hotel dining room seemed an easy place to find a meal. The food is not fine dining but it is fairly standard homestyle cooking food and it was done well. If you...went in with high expectations or were comparing it to Perth choices you might be disappointed, but for a remote country town, this was great. The meat was cooked beautifully and the sauce was tasty. The menu was surprisingly large for the location and had the usual pub menu type options. The staff/owners were friendly and the prices were pretty good considering.More
