We ate here mid January. Food was ok but overpriced. Kids fish and chips was the best value. We ate in the outdoor area near the stage so were able to enjoy the band while eating. The environment is rustic and a nice atmosphere but...I wouldn’t rave about the meals.More

Nice seafood. A bit pricey for the serving size ($80 for a seafood share plate), but the food was very good.

We were very excited to return to Finlay’s after a number of years. We remembered the great atmosphere and yummy food. Firstly, the high points. The atmosphere was good, it’s a fun place to be. The kids meals are a good size and my daughter...enjoyed her fish and chips. The burgers (we had fish and chicken) are good, well priced and are served with ample salad and fries. The low points - we waited at the sign (which asked us to wait to be shown to our table) for at least 10 minutes (it was not busy and we had booked), we finally started walking towards the bar and were then approached by the waiter and shown to our table. The ‘seafood basket’ (photo attached) was $32 so we expected it to be worth $32 - it was not. It included a smaller piece of fish than my child’s meal, 2 prawns, a few pieces of calamari, a very small green salad and a few fries (again less than in the kids meal). We also ordered ‘beer battered onion rings’ - not beer battered and definitely from the freezer section! Overall, not as good as expected - there are better places to eat in Kalbarri.More

Good ambience but you're paying premmium prices for food and service that is far far from it. All I will say is that we paid $32 for a Fishermans Basket share dish that was basically a kids fish and chips with a couple of prawns...and a bit of calamari chucked on top. Not great. This is definitely not Kalbarri's best.More

The sign said no walking but when we enquired at lunch time the manager managed to fit us in for dinner. Sadly no local beers at the moment but they will be back soon. The squid entree was very tasty but they were a bit...chewy. Jenny had the fried squid which was excellent and the fisherman’s basket I had was good. A relaxed outside setting. Good value.More

Really good food and excellent atmosphere. Must book though as I was unable to get in a few times. Recommend the seafood pasta

Always good to visit and eat at Finlay's. The atmosphere is unreal with mismatched chairs and tables, local memorabilia and a bush atmosphere. The food and service was very good. Disappointed that no local beers but hey, they'll be there next time. Keep doing what...you're doing Finlay's, see you next time.More

I went with a group of seafood lovers thinking that I might find something for myself, who doesn't eat seafood but the choices were dismal with my best option being kids nuggets and chips. Despite that I enjoyed myself and everyone else loved their meals....There were some mix ups with the meals but everyone eventually got what they ordered. Nice place but limited menu.More

Established in 1989, this restaurant has been in Kalbarri for over 30 years. Food is in large quantity. Beer is nice.

Thankfully we had pre-booked dinner as we arrived to a "fully booked tonight" sign. The place was packed, live music, and a great vibe. The fish and chips were quite possibly the world's biggest, and were excellent. The seafood basket equally as good. We had...the garlic prawns for starter and I could have happily eaten more of them. A great night.More
