Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was so nice to come to! welcoming and nice vibe inside, you order at the front when you’re ready, we got the chicken caesar salad and the chicken gnocchi. the salad was absolutely huge and so vibrant and beautifully presented, fresh ingredients, so yum...such good flavours. big chunky lettuce leaves, a lovely house made dressing, and a big poached egg on top. my partner’s gnocchi was very good and had great flavours like cranberries in it. coffee was great. i think the price was very reasonable considering the high quality of food, ingredients, and atmosphere. we will definitely be back!More

Nestled in next to the Hills Visitor Centre/Zig Zag Gallery is this delightful little cafe. It has indoor and outdoor seating and a uniquely individual brunch menu (open 7 days a week between 8am & 3pm). The food here is fresh and delicious - the...service is very quick. We had our drinks within minutes of ordering and our food not that long afterwards. Loved our meals - worth trying if you’re in Kalamunda.More

We visited this modern looking cafe for lunch on a very cold weekday. There was outdoor seating available but we went for the crowded inside area. We grabbed menus and went and sat down to peruse the offering which wqs actually very good. Orders were...given at the desk. My burger was well cooked and came with a pile of homemade chips which were very tasty. My wife's cake was fine and her coffee ok. Staff were friendly and welcoming. A good spot to visit. Very popular with women. At one stage I was the lone male amongst 19 women (including 3 front of house staff).More

Nice coffee shop by the visitor centre which also has a bowl of water for dogs, always a winner when I see this! Coffee was excellent, I had to buy their beans as it was so good! Had a toasted ‘Gabby’ sandwich, very tasty! Such...friendly service, the young ladies were so lovely. Tucked away but worth finding.More

A hidden gem near the Kalamunda arts centre. Customer service was first class and the food just as good. Their chippies are different and very tasty. The vegetarian burger was delicious and the Thai beef salad was just awesome with tantalising Thai spice fusion. I...couldn’t fault this place and noted how it packed out. For every person leaving contently there was another to take their position. Definitely come back.More

This quirky little cafe amongst the arts centre of Kalamunda came highly recommend by a number of shopkeepers in the district. We had just finished hiking Lesmurdie Falls and were looking for something quick and easy for lunch. The shredded chicken salad was exactly what...we were looking for, extremely tasty with a beautiful dressing. We thought we would be a bit naughty too and ordered their house made chips with homemade tomato sauce. I am so glad we did. They we devine. Service was attentive and coffee was fabulous too. Would definitely be coming back.More

Dropped in after a Hills hike with my son. Met by friendly staff and pleasant environment. Service quick n efficient The gem? The coffee and both our meals where. My son, a hard boiled vego, rated his vegie burger🍔and chips a 9.7. I think the...word "ten' escaped his mouth between munches😉 My simple toastie🥪 was a complex crunch of flavours. Next time, bugger the hike, lets go straight for the reward; a munch and ☕ here!More

The first day of winter 2019 was going to be sunny and 26 degrees, what better way to start the day with a drive to Kalamunda and enjoy the zig zag area. It was full of all kinds of customers that had one thing in...common, they were happy to be there. The architecture is light industrial with plenty of windows letting in the bright sunshine in. I had ordered poached egg on toast with tomatoes and fetta. A simple dish that can be let down by so many things, so when it came to the table, I was disappointed, it looked so small on the dish. One egg, and it only took up half the plate. Unsure but hungry, I started it and was so surprised. It was not only filling and hit the spot, the egg poached perfectly and a variety of tomatoes used, as well as the fetta balanced out the salt of the dish. I was very happy to enjoy the sun and savour the food in front of me.More

My wife and I dine here regularly and always enjoy the food and smiling and prompt service from the team. We generally sit outside if the weather is reasonable so our dog Barney can join us - drink bowls always available.
