Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Went for dinner and service was top notch. Food arrived quickly and the servings were huge. We very much enjoyed our delicious home made pasta and wood fired pizza and went home with a doggy bag. My only gripe was that we sat inside and the doors were open so that we were continually swatting flies off our meal all evening. Otherwise - great!

Given there is an influx of boomers and ‘Karen’s’ travelling through Exmouth in peak season there’ll always be some less favourable reviews.
For my partner and I, who’ve been and tried many different places all around Australia. BBQ Father was unreal.
The service was prompt and followed with a smile, meals were very large and reasonably priced.
Food was prepared and executed perfectly, two pastas were followed with gelatos,
We practically rolled out of the establishment.
Thanks guys we love your work.

We can't thank The BBQ father crew for a fantastic meal and night out. We attended the restaurant for dinner for a work event. They were very accomodating to our staggered ordering and gave us more time when requested. When the meals arrived all at the table were definitely impressed. The serving sizes are very generous and non of us left there hungry. Most actually left with takeaway containers full of goodness and the knowledge that the following days lunch was taken care of. Thanks again The BBQ Father, I'm sure you'll see us again before the season is over.

We went to this restaurant twice within a week. Initially, we thought they had just had a bad night so we tried again and ordered take away the second time. The take away order was supposed to be ready in 15 minutes, 45 minutes later we were still waiting.
I've never had Bruchetta like this, all ingredients served separately with so much oil and dressing that the bread was a soaking mess. And for what it was, it was expensive.
The kids serve of Macaroni and Cheese was extremely overpriced and worse than we could have made ourselves at home, which is what we will do next time. If we hadn't bought it as take away and kept travelling, I would have taken it back.

Ordered pizza, ribs, arancini and bruschetta and a beer.
When one rib and an extra bone came out with no meat tried to return the empty bone for a rib with meat was told they only ever serve 1 rib and that they gave me an extra bone for kicks , gave in and said I'd take the meal back even though every memory I have of this joint you always get two beef ribs(who knows) was given some complimentary dry briscut and told I'd get a discount at the till. We got a $4 discount on a $115 bill. To clarify, the menu says ribs as in plural so dunno, if it's only one put rib on the menu.
The bruschetta wasn't actually a bruschetta but an antipasto with crappy black olives and tomato, no garlic, no herbs, plain toast, no flavour basically. Paid $18 and left majority of it.
Coleslaw had cream on it rather than dressing I'm guessing as it was so bland it was inedible.
The pizza and the arancini were decent but overall very disappointed for somewhere that we used to enjoy regularly.

What a beautiful meal and excellent service we experienced this evening. The plain bread entree came out toasted with EVO and balsamic. The mains we couldn’t fault. Smoked pork ribs fell off the bone and the cabonara was spot on

We visited twice during our stay. The first time I had pizza which was sensational. The wife had pasta which she enjoyed.
The second time I went for the smoked ribs and they were very disappointing. Chunks of dry meat with heaps of fat on a plate piled high with chips and a very wet coleslaw. Not worth the money by a long shot.

Upon booking we were really excited to have a delicious meaty meal after a big day of exploring.
I'll start with a couple of positives...
1. We were able to book in for 6.30pm same day.
2. The service was provided with a smile.
3. My entree of the gnocci fritti was actually so delicious and well enough for two to share.
.
Now, unfortunately the rest of the review isn't so positive.
1. We ordered 2 drinks and 2 entrees. We only received one entree, the drinks came later and the 2nd entree was forgotton. They then told us at least 20 mins later it was put through as a main and would come out then.
2. We waited approx. 45mins for our mains to come out which we were terribly disappointed by. The restaurant boasts smoked meats, however we couldn't taste much of a smoky flavour at all. The meat on both the ribs and brisket were dry and not as flavoursome as we had hoped. The chips were just some cheap frozen chips deep fried, some weren't even hot on the plate.
3. We ordered another round of drinks when our dinner arrived, we had finished our meals (what we were happy to eat) before our drinks arrived. I had to ask for a follow up on our drinks order to be told they didnt go through the system.
4. The toilet facilities were average also.
After being really excited to dine in at the BBQ Father, we were very disappointed and most likely won't return.

Great flavours, generous serves and great service. Pasta was al dente and the sauce awesome. Heaps of seafood in the marinara and everyone that ordered came out with a doggy bag.
Gelato was also really good.

Gnocchi - poor, mix between packet mac and cheese and tomato jar sauce with fake Parmesan…. Disgusting
Brisket was flavourless, coleslaw was wet and soggy chips, boring.
Garlic bread, burnt….
Very expensive - I’m sure if they did not have a large caravan park next door they wouldn’t be in business for much longer. Luckily there are always a large bunch of first timers travelling through Exmouth.

We have eaten here on all our visits to Exmouth although i assumed the name change might have meant change in owners. Being school holidays, i booked well ahead and we went early which i think was a good move as LOTS more people came in after us so not sure if we would have had a big wait....
We had excellent service from 2 different waitresses one of whom wasn't super well versed in some menu options but funny and great with our daughter who we ordered for ASAP while we ordered drinks and had more time to choose...
We ordered garlic bread, 2 pasta dishes, a pizza and salad and the reef and beef - there was a replacement for the t-bone but neither the waitress nor my FIL knew what "flap steak" was but he said it was very tasty anyway! 😋
There was a small mix up when a pasta ordered with "no cheese" came out with parmesan but the waitress took it back and it was replaced quickly.
The pasta dishes were very large but both said they were tasty and the pizza was delicious. The reef and beef garlic sauce on the prawns was bright yellow but apparently tasted good.
I also had a bottle of sangiovese - not cheap but it was tasty and you can take what you don't drink home anyway so cheaper than buying a few glasses.
They were also doing lots of takeaways so probably better to go early or there might be a longer wait but we had good food and service so would go back next visit!

Friendliest staff I’ve ever encountered. The food was immense, huge portions for what you pay, had to take home a doggy bag. Our entrées were incredible, arancini was especially good. Then our pasta dishes were even better, and the ice cream topped it off. Just a lovely restaurant, couldn’t fault it.

The worst meal we have had since on the road..almost 18 months! The service was not good with wrong meals written down and my granddaughters pizza not ordered at all. We only ate a quarter of our meals as just not nice especially when prices were restaurant level. Don’t bother!

We booked our table for a family of 3 a few weeks prior to our September 2021 holiday.
We have dined at this restaurant quite a few times before over the years and the food & service was always excellent!
We were so looking forward to eating there again.
We arrived at the restaurant at 6.30pm and waited for 30 minutes before being asked if we would like a drink!
Then we waited for another half an hour before ordering our food and then a further 30 minutes until our food arrived.
The restaurant was extremely busy in fact it was quite chaotic and was obviously understaffed. There were also other customers sat near to us who had waiting for a while and asking to be served.
It’s so disappointing that the restaurant’s service has gone so downhill, it’s no fault to the waitresses who were trying their best but were absolutely rushed off their feet.
On the way out I asked to speak to the manager, just to give her some friendly feedback, I explained that the food was very nice but unfortunately the service wasn’t and the girls were rushed off their feet and the service wasn’t up to scratch. I suggested maybe stopping doing takeaway! If unable to cope with such a busy restaurant…she agreed they are understaffed and can’t find any staff this is such a shame that what was once a brilliant restaurant has gone to what felt more like a takeaway!
I hope this will improve in the future!

Needed somewhere easy and simple to eat for dinner. From the previous reviews we thought we would give this place a go as we wanted to try all the different eating houses in Exmouth rather than go back to previous establishments. We were sadly disappointed. I told my partner why would you order pasta at a restaurant that names itself BBQ Father. She ordered the spinach pasta with chicken, creamy garlic sauce and a splash of tomato. Whilst I think the pasta tasted home made the dish came out looking very unappealing. It was sloppy and stodgy and wasn’t very appetising or well presented. Couldn’t force herself to swish through the drowning pasta. Should the pasta just have been coated rather than swimming in its sauce it could have been a good dish. Chicken mentioned on the menu was invisible in this dish. I took advantage of the chefs special of smoked brisket with $1 pint of Great Northern. Whilst the meat was tenderly smoked and BBQ sauce was a good touch, the accompanying coleslaw looked like a KFC special. We did have a good highlight to the dinner with the stunning homemade gelato for sweets. This was very special.
