Decided to have dinner here one evening although a little reluctant after reading some of the latest reviews. We were not disappointed. We ordered the grilled fish, chips and salad and the Seafood linguine with creamy pesto sauce. Servings were generous and they both tasted delicious. Initially I thought that the fish and chips at $32 was 'toppish' but there was a lot of fish served. The Linguine was first-class with plenty of prawns and scallops and very tasty for $29. Well worth it! All staff were very courteous and helpful and couldn't fault them at all. All in all a very good experience.

Steak Sandwich was coked as requested and tasty with little or no fat on the meat. Salt & Pepper squid was fresh and lightly battered which did not overwhelm the flavour, salad was fresh and tasty. Staff were cheerful , friendly and exceptionally helpful, great welcome, great atmosphere well done guys

Had dinner tonight. Quick service as got in early. $35 for a parmy with 2 prawns and 2 scallops, most we’ve paid anywhere in Oz. Parmigiana ok but chips cold and salad dry and just lettuce and onion. Girls serving nice but really eating garlic bread in between orders isn’t a great look. Won’t be back.

We were here after school holidays in which we were told the town was still at capacity. However in going to potshot for dinner we arrived to find a sign on the bar on a Tuesday saying kitchen was closed... the town was very much still full with most places totally booked out. Even those guests staying in their fully booked “hotel & resort” could not get a meal not even hot chips or snacks. We were told it was because the chef had not had a night off in 3 months and another said they close every Tuesday so what the true reason was we don’t know. But with I am sure many chefs out of work due to COVID it wouldn’t be hard to find one to work in such a beautiful town and share the work load. With tourism recovering and West Australians traveling at home this is the time to be open every night feeding those who have spent a fortune to stay at your hotel/ resort and recoup the loses for being shut.. was disappointing to also then see the cost of a middy of beer is $10 when you can go to whalebone or froths and get a full pint for similar to this around the corner. Shame the prices are inflated for food and drink as this will still put people off traveling and coming to Exmouth. Didn’t eat here as it was closed for food but at $31.95 just for a chicken parmy & $30 for a curry there are several other better priced restaurants for food and drink just minutes away. Ones we ate at several times after this experience and never went back to potshot for food or drinks during our visit.

Four of us had a great dive trip in Exmouth. On the final night we decided on dinner at the Potshot bistro. We arrived and settled in to some wine. At about 7:45 we ordered dinner. We needed 2 orders (3 meals on on and 1 one another as we had a coeliac). The wait and bar staff were attentive and friendly. The gluten free meal arrived relatively promptly but we were waiting on the others. After what seemed like a long wait we bought some more wine and asked the staff to check on the meals only to be told that they had forgotten our meals and the kitchen staff had decided to go home early (between 8:30 and 8:45) because they weren’t busy despite being required to stay until 9:00. The waitress was very embarrassed (despite it not being her fault) but ultimately could do nothing but process a refund. It was too late to find another venue so the manager was asked if he could fry up some chips but he claimed he “did’t have the skills” (ladies give this one a wide berth). He didn’t even comp some of the wine. The only reason they scored 1 dot is because it doesn’t allow 0. Being the last night, Potshot single handedly left a negative pall the Exmouth experience. There are plenty of good places to eat in Exmouth so do yourself a favour and give this one a wide birth.

Saturday night 17th April, we arrived at approximately 7.30pm and were warmly greeted by the wait staff. Shortly after we ordered our drinks and meals at the bar as instructed and enjoyed the surrounds overlooking the pool. Just after 8pm the first meal arrived, However after a further 15min of waiting for the remaining 3 meals we were advised that the kitchen staff had gone home early because it was quiet and our meals couldn’t be delivered! A full refund was provided in notes & coins. Unfortunately the remaining staff could not offer any food so we went home hungry.

Unfortunately the food was very disappointing. Garlic bread burnt. We ordered fish & chips. The fish was like rubber (tough) & the chips over cooked. Do yourself a favour & find another place as they obviously don’t care about the food they are serving.

Not one to usually write negative reviews but this one is well deserved. Absolutely terrible service all round. Had a group of 10 or so come for dinner, 3 meals rocked up then another two more than half an hour later another 3 or so and then another. Was waiting on one last meal to arrive (mind you he was the first to order) waited another half an hour and asked what was going on for the staff to say ‘it’s on its way, we are really busy’ waited another 15 mins at that point everyone wanted to go home (after waiting over an hour and a half for meals) so asked for money back after dealing with 4 people just to get money back eventually left with a refund and no food. Would recommend eating elsewhere

We had a look on the website before coming and this restaurant looked great! Only to get here and be told the menu is changed and only a limited selection was available. Steak on hot rock wasn’t a good cut of meat but was priced like one! Would avoid that and anything cooked on the hot rock altogether. It was hard work just to enjoy a meal and there was the constant feeling of having no space or you will burn yourself. Seafood wasn’t seasoned at all and was very average. It wasn’t terrible but I would recommend going elsewhere. Definitely very overpriced for mediocre food and atmosphere.

There were 6 of us in the group travelling from Perth to Exmouth. After a long day of driving, we were hoping to get some good food and we did not disappoint with the food we got from Potshot Bistro. The food was amazing and the serving was quite big. We ordered the garlic prawn pizza which was yummy with good amount of big prawns on it. We also ordered the seafood basked, Chicken Parmigiana, lamb rack, fish of the day. ALL were delicious.

I had Salt & pepper Squid which was cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. The staff were friendly & attentive. The surroundings were ambient and fitted the mood & were clean & well presented. Would definitely recommend eating there & will go again next time I'm visiting Exmouth!

Stopped by the Potshot for a drink and ended up staying for a meal. The Pesto Pasta with seafood was divine and the Chicken Parma Surf & Turf was delightfully different and very delicious. Loads of nice menu items to choose from, catering for the fussiest eater. The property from the outside looks like it has had better days, but on the inside there is a public bar, TAB facility, the Bistro, lounge bar area which was very clean and modern and nothing like the outside façade. The staff are very friendly and efficient. Can’t wait to try the other dishes on the menu.

The Potshot has been around forever with much of the old building still intact and a few more modern add-ons over the years. The beer garden and the outdoor pool area are great, with Friday nights still the place to be for the locals. Inside is pretty dark and dingy, with a limited dinner menu and food/drink prices were higher than you would expect. It still had a good atmosphere, was a good spot to watch the GF and the staff were all friendly. Worth a visit on reputation alone.

The food was not good at all. Chicken burger and steak burger looked like they were in a tip top bun. chicken was just pressed chicken snitzel. Steak tough and really no flavour to either. It’s something I would rustled up for the kids when the pantry was empty. Charge extra and do better. There is a bakery up in Exmouth so perhaps use them. And get better grade frozen chips. Make your own sauce. We ask to have the buns toasted but they came out Not toasted and stale. Great atmosphere but it’s a waste if food is poor.

We had a beef burger and chicken burger. Chicken burger was dry and tasteless, chips tasted oily. Beef burger fell apart and was pink. Do not recommend the food. 2 Coronas cost $21.80. Very expensive
