Was advised to visit here by my B & B and well worth it after a thirst-making walk. Staff very friendly and welcoming and provided me with a huge sunday roast which I could not finish! Even the locals were amazed at it's size.

Sweet pub with good beer, but a bizarre rule which says that hot drinks (tea etc) will only be served with a meal! Because we were only staying for a quick break in our walk, my friend was refused a hot drink on a cold...More

We liked this venue a lot. Service was very good. Food and value were good. We particularly liked the local cinema club room within the pub - after the meal we went straight to the room to enjoy a good film.

Ate and drank there regularly during our week's stay. Staff friendly and professional. Food good and drinks. However settling a bill one night noticed that whereas pints of beer were £3.70, the half pints were £2.10. Now I accept an "element" of rounding up, but...More

This is more like a pub, with honest food, lots of drinks and great staff. The room I slept in lacked of natural light (very small window) and smelt of damp. The girl came early in the morning for cleaning and finding me still in...More

The group that I was holidaying with were lucky enough to spot a poster advertising a Folk Evening. No need to book, just turn up we were told. Players and singers entertained us for the whole evening, and sadly we had booked a taxi for...More

Booked a table here for 3 people in the evening. Seated at first in the bar but we requested to be moved to the restaurant which was no trouble. The meal was excellent especially the rump steak. The service was prompt and efficient.

We had a remarkably well-cooked Sunday Lunch - there was masses of nicely-cooked roast beef, and the broccoli was cooked to perfection - always a good test! We subsequently enjoyed an evening meal there, when the grilled sardines were a delight

We enjoyed homemade soup, but other things on the menu did not appeal to us. I know it is a pub, but this place could do with some painting/modernisation.

We only called in to this pub for an afternoon drink ..pretty garden and great choice of ciders. The interior decor could do with a lift .Quiet location .
