Stopped by in Saint-Girons to break car journey. Stumbled across this restaurant for lunch. Fortunate to obtain an outdoor seat overlooking river, church and weir. Very pretty indeed. Both ordered set 3 course menu. Starter was a simple salad. For main we both chose a local French style sausage and chips. The sausage looked lovely from the outside, but once cut... More

We couldn't be served anywhere else because it was 2pm, I have always heard about this place, and really wasn't disappointed. The lunch menu will get you a salad with charcuterie, a steak or magret (duck steak) with homemade French fries, a dessert, coffee and a glass of wine for only 12,95 euros ! The meat is of excellent quality,... More

Simple brasserie/cafe overlooking Le Salat river in St Girons. We called in for a glace on our way to Ariege and 4 days later popped in again on our return. The owner recognised us with a friendly smile and we ordered up a lunch. Good food, fine views, friendly staff. Dining al fresco.

Not posh, but clean and a cut above some of the other cafes in town. Lovely aspect on the river and the Old Bridge, especially if you can get... More
