Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Catch a boat to the Float restaurant at sunset and get a wonderful and relaxing experience. We went for a afternoon drink to see the sunset and enjoyed it a lot after a long day touring Stonetown.

This floating restaurant is a great place to sit out and watch the world go by, with a lovely view over the sea front and sheltered from the sun. The service is good. Cleanliness good. Food selection and quality good.

This place used to be nice, but the location is almost the only thing remaining. Ordinary dishes - too pricey. Cold beers.

We walked from our hotel to sit on a shady patio with an ocean view. We came back to watch the sunset and have dinner. The service was excellent and the menu was large enough so we all found something delicious for dinner. The ocean...breeze was very welcome as it was a hot day and evening. We all enjoyed a nice cold beverage.More

With a nice wide deck area at the waters edge this restaurant is in a great location for chilling with a cold drink and watching the view. It is not floating but still nice to be at especially in the hot weather. The food is...good but not fantastic.More

The food was really good but pricey compared to other places in the area. Great place to see the sunset with the dhows in the background and also for watching the Zanzibar men diving into the sea.

We had lunch here. The view was great, as was the service, not the food. My partner had a pizza, the crust was dry, skimpy on sauce, & cheese. I had fish curry, the fish was not fresh, curry sauce was mediocre, and even the...rice was bad. Will not be returning.More

Its not floating but is on a pier out from the main promenade. You could say that it gaves the illusion of floating Its not a gourmet food restaurant, more a cafe. But its is a very pleasant place to sit in the shade and...enjoy a cold beer The views out over the harbour are spectacular, and you can watch the progress of the dhows in and out of the harbour. Service and prices are what you would expect from a tourist joint in a high profile location.More

we stopped there after a city tour for a beer and a snack. We sat outside to enjoy the beautiful views and sunset. The beer was cold, the service was good and I enjoyed the calamari we ordered. Nice spot, I would recommend it.

I travelled to Zanzibar with my aged (92 but still active) father, and we had lunch here quite a few days, and sometimes sundowners. The restaurant is not actually floating although it is suspended over the water. The views are fantastic. You get to see...all the different things that share the bay from huge ferries, to dhows, to fishing boats, to even a real floating bar and guesthouse. And of course the young people jumping off the sea wall and having fun swimming in the sea. The food is simple, the beer is cold and the prices are reasonable. The sunsets are of course spectacular. there is a toilet (important for my old Dad), and the staff are very laid back. I feel we could have stayed all day over one beer and no one would have minded. It's a lovely place to sit and enjoy a cool drink and some sea food for lunch. Service is good. Food is good, Overall it's a pleasant place to go, it's clean (as far as I could see) and the view is good. I've been...here twice and both times I've had good food and good service. Price is also good, we paid Tsh60 000 for 3 beers and two plates of calamari and chips. Which isn't bad!More

If you want to enjoy a good afternoon pizza then this is a place to visit. Soft bread, good topping just delicious. You don't get option of adding extra topping though but that doesn't matter as long as you have an amazing sea view infront...of you thats all matter. I actually think if you compare their menu prices with the rest of other restaurants in Stone Town, these guys are actually the "cheapest".. lol. Some improvements need to be taken by the staffs, they can be a little bit slow. But overally great work guys.More

A nice pier restaurant/bar to sit and relax, having a break from everybody in Stone Town trying to get money out of your for one service or another. Sit and enjoy a drink and snack while watching the world pass by. Sunset views are the...best from this quiet, not too overpriced place.More
