El Barajo, if you want to try real Dominican/Spanish food that's the place to be. Awesome atmosphere (feels like eating at home). Diverse group of people eating at El Barajo. This place reminds me a lot of a place we visited in Ponce, PR. It's not fancy, but it IS clean. You can see into the kitchen, so I don't understand what people are saying about cleanliness. The menu sounds better then the actual quality of the meal. My sister and I visted earlier May 2015 both got ox tail plates with rice and beans.. did not have mexican rice made only white rice.. it was ok.. the ox tail did not provide enough meat to fill me up as I prefer the protein to the starches..... This place is really small it also makes me question the cleanliness used when preparing the food as soon as I walked in. Yeah you heard it not a Spanish restaurant but a Dominican and not that great either plus they charge you NY city prices for rive and beans and greasy meats

You don't know what plantain "con los tres golpes" for breakfast is? The helpful translation is "with three hits."
