We were in Troy for the farmer's market. Some friends told us about Carmen's restaurant close to their apartment. A short walk from downtown, the food was great. We sat outside in the sunshine and enjoyed wonderful Cuban food. The Cubano sandwiches were great and the empanadas were too. Our friends tell us the breakfasts are great. We are looking... More

Very lively, bright colored eatery. I had the Cubano sandwich, very good.i like the tables outside but no umbrellas or awnings so you roast. We ate inside & it was delicious and very noisy. I wish they had an air filter that worked because I smelled to high heaven of fried food. Next time despite no shade, eating outside. Popular... More

Very good Cuban sandwich and excellent wedge potatoes with it. They were out of slaw, which was supposed to accompany it, at the time, but provided us, on request, a salad at no additional charge. We sat outside on a pleasant late morning. Cool views of the old factories and houses in the neighborhood. There were many interesting menu items,... More

We went on Easter Sunday 1 hour before closing. The food was excellent as was the very friendly staff and their service. Being late on a busy day everything was still wonderful and we were not rushed.

Nice breakfast spot in Troy with parking on the street. The omelets are cooked perfectly and are reasonably priced. The waitress is friendly and works incredibly hard in a busy environment.

Since we got married in Puerto Rico in March and fell in love with Plantains and Cassava/Yuca we've been looking for a restaurant locally that can at least recreate our dining experiences from Puerto Rico. Carmen's is Cuban food but the dishes are so similar we decided to try it. We WILL be back and often. Absolutely delicious food, great... More

Vege hash is wonderful. My favorite breakfast is the ranch eggs which comes with black beans, hiot sauce and lime cream sauce as well as the hash. Good dark coffee too!

After being a Puerto Rican from Los Angeles who had experienced exquisite authentic Cuban food in LA's Cuban Restaurants such as "La Caridad", "El Floridita" & "Versailles" I was pretty excited when I heard about "Carmen's Cafe". If you are used to Cuban food you will find their food is good (Not great). The black beans lack their authentic flavor... More
