The place was recommended by a local as one of the best places to eat in town. I was not able to have dinner there on the Saturday night I was staying in Tarrytown because, of course, they where so very busy so I decided to try again the next day. I stopped for a late lunch. They have a... More

My brother and I visited historic Tarrytown today. So many places to choose from for lunch, it was mind boggling. Prices were not on the low end. But we chose Tarry Tavern for it's quaintness as well as price. The burger I had was delicious, it came with crispy, hand cut fries!. My brother had a pulled pork sandwich with... More

I have been to Tarry Tavern several times and it is one of two Tarrytown restaurants that I consider to be consistently good. The main problem is that it is very noisy on a weekend night. Also because it is down the street from the Tarrytown Music Hall you need to make reservations early is there is a concert on... More

I had not been back to TARRY TAVERN for a while and wanted to see if it was as good as I remembered. It was. I started with the iceberg wedge with blue cheese dressing, and also had some butternut squash soup, both good choices, The salad always crisp and fresh, and the soup rich and flavorful. For my main course I... More

We stopped in for a quick meal before a family event. We did not have much time, but our server made sure we were served quickly and efficiently. The food was very good. I highly recommend the pasta with the spare rib ragu. It was excellent. Our son had salmon and enjoyed it. My wife had the Maine muscles and... More

We stopped in for dinner the night of the Tarrytown Halloween parade ( takes place RIGHT in front of this place!). It was VERY busy that night so service was a little slow but it was very crowded. Our dinner's were both very good! Altho we sat outside ( the night was gorgeous!), we did venture in and it was... More

We visited this quaint town on a bus trip.......had only a few hours to have dinner because of our busy itinerary, so we decided to eat here. We actually thought that it was just a small tavern, so we anticipated having burgers, sandwiches, and typical "bar food". Well, we were happily surprised when we were handed our menus! Who would... StArt with the iceberg lettuce appetizer, or any of the other appetizers for that matter. Go on to the chicken or the Mac and cheese (not what you'd expect, complete with crab meat). This restaurant, owner operated by a family that cares, is a find and a good stop in an enticing village. Even the bread scores a 10.

Had lunch here on a busy Saturday. The food lives up to the promise of fresh and local. The cauliflower soup was delicious and rich tasting with small pieces of apple that enhanced the taste. The veggie burger was different from the usual. It was light and tasty and had zucchini and corn flour as the base. It came with... More

My daughter and I thought we were going to a pub because of the name. I am glad we decided to dine here anyway. It was one of the best restaurants in which I have ever had the pleasure to dine. My daughter had the cavatelli with pork ragu. The pork was tender and the cavatelli so tender and homemade.... More
