Wife and I visited on a Saturday night. As always we had a wonderful meal and we just love the ambiance. We started with the calamari which was tender and covered in a spicy sauce with just the right amount of heat and a basket of bread. For entrees, I went with the pot roast which is my go to... More

I had filet mignon, mashed potatoes and it was wonderful! Perfectly cooked. They also make a great rum runner. Breakfast was OK - scrambled eggs that were OK, but no meat and I would have liked that. Potatoes had peppers in them, not my first choice in fried potatoes. I don't eat bread so no report on that part.

We met our friends for a late lunch and the service was prompt and courteous. I wished the menu offered a soup & half-sandwich option or a soup & salad. All of us had the butternut soup - superb! Corned beef hash was enjoyed by the two men but my husband wondered after why some bread didn't accompany the dish.... More

We went there this summer and liked our meal. We went back again to enjoy more good food. It was on a Thursday night and the restaurant was not very busy. My wife started with squash soup and it was amazing. I started with a lettuce wedge and the blue cheese dressing was great. They gave us a nice basket... More

A beautiful facility with working wood burning fire places, perfect for the cold rainy evening in town. Dinner was good, my steak was perfectly medium. My only complaint is that the our service was pretty slow, we were in no hurry but when you want to order another drink and the place is not very busy, waiting is a nuisance.

Four friends met for lunch recently. Food selections are diverse and most are quite good. We all had something different and everyone was satisfied. Prices are very reasonable and portions good. I was a little disappointed this time though because I had quiche and there was too much gelatin in it. It was too rubbery. This is a historic building... More

if going through Skaneateles make a point to eat at the Sherwood Inn. Met some old friends for cocktails and dinner.Restaurant is good for having a conversation while looking out at the lake. Food and service very good! I was very happy with the pan seared duck best special.

Even though the noise level is high, the service, food, and general atmosphere makes this the place to be in this town. We ate in the bar area. There is a less noisy fine dining area. Had the trout. Good. Nice, reasonably priced house wines. Good selection of beer.

We heard lots of good things about the food. We weren't sure what type of atmosphere it was before we arrived. We were seated within 10 mins but had we known there was a live singer right near the bar, we would have asked to sit in the other dining area. Great singer but it was very loud. My husband... More
