Although the outside is just average, inside this small restaurant is pleasant and relaxing and the service is very good. Delicious sushi plus bento boxes, teriyaki and tempura, and of course Japanese beer. Interesting rolls and combinations, and very good sashimi. Popular with locals and reasonable prices, very nice.

So we have been faithful patrons of our local sushi place for years. Went there tonight to find they were closed for 2 weeks (winter break), so looked for other places in the area and found Hana Sushi in Red Hook. OK - full disclosure. The restaurant is located in a pseudo-strip mall a few doors down from Subway, and... More

Love the seaweed salad roll (comes with avocado, seaweed and cucumber)! One of us is vegetarian and we managed to pick a few things to make it a meal. We wanted cold tofu (which is not on the menu), they made it for us (which was a nice touch). I also had the tempura udon, tempura was nicely done but... More

I've been a regular since they began. Consistently delicious rolls served by very kind and friendly staff. It's hard to find good Asian cuisine in Hudson Valley, and this place is the best for a taste of Japanese. (Also helps that it's right down the street from the center of Red Hook, and in the same complex as Holy Cow... More

It was delicious authentic Japanese sushi run by lovely Japanese couple who deliver sushi at an affordable price. Delicate nigiri and maki sushi as you would have in some small sushi eatery in Japan. What a great discovery.

I have been here a number of times over the last 6 or 8 years, and the food has been consistently high quality, especially the sushi. Always fresh. I've eaten in sushi restaurants in Tokyo and Osaka as well as in NYCity and Hana Sushi is comparable to the best. Not fancy but the waitstaff are always Japanese and knowledgeable.... More

Our first visit to Hana Sushi was great! We started with some traditional appetizers, the shumai, gyoza, and edamame. the shumai were wonderful! Our boat of sushi arrived shortly afterward! We had so many rolls we did not know how we were going to eat everything! But eat we did. The eels was great! The smoked salmon roll was a... More

Food is good, atmosphere drab, price is right but most importantly staffed by Japanese. Can't find another Japanese restaurant around where they speak Japanese rather than Korean or only English.

I've actually come here many times to eat, but hadn't thought to review it. The place itself isn't very grand - kind of a long, narrow space with the sushi bar at the front and tables in the back. Despite the lack of atmosphere, the staff is very welcoming as soon as you walk in. The service has always been... More

The sushi here is delicious! I am a regular sushi eater and decided to visit Hana Sushi while vacationing at Lake Taghkanic. I found the food to taste and look amazing! I loved it! The hand-crafted rolls were innovative and a superb taste experience! Another added bonus - the prices are extremely affordable! Also, all the staff was friendly and... More
