"Never judge a book by its cover" rings so true in this instance. What a wonderful meal! We grabbed an Uber and headed into the unassuming business on a very quiet street. Even though we had a rather late Friday night reservation (9:15P), Mauricio was...More

Dishes from many South American countries.Drink menu is extensive and reasonably priced. Guava martini was delicious. We shared a huge paella for the main course. It was tasty and plentiful with all sorts of seafood. Mahi mahi tacos were great for appetizer. We also ordered...More

Two mature couples here out for a very nice evening. For starters we enjoyed the mild guacamole (prepared at the table for show) and roasted cauliflower. Great chips that were light, warm and fresh. Red sangria was fruity and sweet. Two of us loved the...More

Sonora is without equal for a special night out, happy hour or just an "I don't feel like cooking" night. Their regular menu is varied and filled with interesting (and delicious) choices. There is something for virtually all tastes and hunger levels at Sonora. Tapas...More

My family took me to Sonora for Mother's Day. The food, service and atmosphere were absolutely lovely. A few small picky things - my branzino had some bones, my son's chicken was a bit boring, and my spicy margarita had pepper flakes on the outside...More

The food at Sonora was delicious. They had a set menu for Easter with many choices and bottomless mimosas. The ambiance and service was also great.

We love Sonora every visit and should come more often. Our visit today was to celebrate a birthday. The Guac was excellent as always. My Octopus appetizer was tasty but the octopus was fatty, if octopus can be that. The drinks and 1/2 price Wine...More

Wow, the food here is some of the best I've ever had. Creative and delicious offerings are contrasted with a front-of-the-house staff that would clearly be someplace else. Too bad, because the chef/owner know quality. Too bad they don't know how to hire a hostess/manager.

Description
Since Rafael Palomino—Sonora’s Executive Chef and Proprietor—opened the doors to this, his flagship Latin-fusion restaurant, he has received accolades from a broad customer base, including an “Excellent” from the New York Times. This creative, Colombian-born (Queens-raised) chef and author of five cookbooks, has since opened 8 more restaurants that span three states (New York, Connecticut and Pennsylvania). Sonora, like Palomino’s other restaurants, boasts excellent service and mouth-watering dishes, paired with an extensive wine list and cocktail offerings. In addition to impeccable service and delicious dishes, Sonora’s two-story home offers guests the possibility of having a custom-designed and catered on-site private party, for any occasion, from 12 to 110 people.
