Fortunately we didn't check trip advisor this time before we ate! If we had done then we would have missed a truly lovely meal as we would have walked on by. The staff were welcoming, brought us complimentary garlic bread whilst we waited for our meal. A litre carafe of the house red was the cheapest and nicest we have... More

This was an experience I wished I would never go through. Wen we first entered the restaurant no one from the staff said Hi or welcome, we were invisible. After a long time we got an table, but no menu for 15 minutes. When we finally got the menu it took another 20 minutes before the waitress even looked at... More

Cafe Cultural has got a great location it's in the square next to the new water fountains which attract lots of the locals which is great for people watching. We ordered cocktails which took the longest time ever to arrive just when we thought they had forgot we watched the waitress go to the shop to buy the supplies drinks... More

I first visited The Cultural Cafe about 3 years ago when it was ok - nothing special apart from the lovely hand cut chips!! But we went there again on our latest trip as the choice of restaurants isn't exactly stunning. Frozen chips. I also had the "African chicken in peanut sauce". It was really awful - bland, unappealing, luke... More

Best (rich man's) cachupa I ate on the islands. Pretty average in every sense otherwise. Seems to close early as it was already dark around 10 PM

By which they mean very pink which I love. Typical Cabo Verdian unsmiling waitresses ( where do they all get trained? ) and a 220ECV cover charge for what I know not! Spoiled what was in essence very decent food.

I guess the menus in 8 different languages next to the entrance was the give away. I didn't want to eat here as I had a feeling it would be a disappointment but I was with a group. Man, was this a bad experience! First of all, there were far too many tables for the kitchen to deal with. We... More

Loved the Tuna with Soy and vegatables. The patatoes there are the best! Went there 3 times. It's not a pizzeria at all like it says on the outside. It's world food kitchen

Although a bit average looking during daylight hours,I think this restaurant,at night, with its atmospheric lighting really comes into its own. It has the added benefit of having a few items on its menu that do not appear on other restaurant's menus such as ribs and a delicious chicken leg cooked in a honey and pepper glaze. Good food and service,reasonable... More

We visited this bar/restaurant 3-4 times - mainly for drinks. It was great for drinks, cheap and plenty of tables. We had food one night and it was nowhere near as good, I received the wrong food and when it did come back correct, part of it was cold. Prompt service which is unusual in Santa Maria
