We have been coming to New Paltz for years every labor day or memorial day for the Ulster County Crafts Fair. We have eaten in various restaurants in town. We wanted to try something new. Gadaletos is where we went and are we happy we did. The restaurant is next to their fish market. It is a very casual restaurant.... More

If you like seafood, don't miss Gadaleto's. They offer a reasonably priced lunch in a casual atmosphere. They will prepare your fish or seafood anyway you want it and the choices are numerous. It's incredibly fresh from the mussels (large serving enough for two at $10) to the chowders to the lobster rolls($16). All good choices. This is a favorite... More

Not fancy, but wonderful, fresh seafood, service was prompt and unhurried. The oysters tasted like they were just plucked from the sea. My companion had the fish and chips, he was very pleased. Adjoining is the seafood market, so you can purchase fresh seafood As well.

This restaurant was referred to us and we were not disappointed. The lobster roll was fantastic. The lobster was cooked perfectly and was very good. For dessert we had the Calamari and found it to be excellent. Would receommend this establishment.

We have done sit down and the fish is good. But the best buy is their swordfish chili. On the run? Pick up a quart with oyster crackers and you've got a meal for two. It's got chunks of swordfish, add some Tabasco to taste and for $10 bucks you can't go wrong

Tucked into a nondescript strip mall in this college town at the foot of the glorious Shawangunk Mountains is one of finest seafood restaurants anywhere. Preparations are refreshingly simple and showcase the freshness and splendid variety of sea creatures. The restaurant, attached to the market, is just a bunch of tables, but the sensational staff makes it a delightful experience.... More

Finally got to try this place after 9 months living in the area. We had tried on spec a few weeks ago but we had no reservation and there was a long line. This time we called ahead and were seated right away. The formula is good. Choose your fish - prices from $16 to ~$30 per the board -... More

Between the market, the kitchen and the dining room, there is no place beats Gadaleto's. Seafood and shellfish are hand selected by owners in the wee hours of the morning directly at Hunts Point sea market, and delivered up to the market long before opening. Browse the seafood cases, and you'll see freshest fish in the Hudson Valley. The kitchen... More

Gadealeto's is more than a seafood restaurant. They also have a fresh fish market, so if you haven't had enough craving at lunch or dinner, you can take home the freshest fish around. Dinner is wonderful, you can taste the freshness. Above all this place has friendly service, clean bathrooms and a nice location.
