My wife and I have been dining at The Ship Lantern since 1985 when we celebrated our 15th anniversary. Since then we go there for anniversaries, Valentines Day, birthdays and dinner with special friends. Our last visit was in early December 2016. The service is perfect as is the atmosphere. The menu is varied and the food is excellent. We... More

Chosen for a family celebration, party of three. No one at the front door to greet and seat, but the corner table was ready, though it took several minutes for our waiter to take our drink order; then another several minutes before taking our orders. What was particularly disappointing was although a specific request for no anchovies for one of... More

After many years of driving by this place and saying we should go there, we finally did and we were stupid for not going sooner. What a great place. The atmosphere had an old school feel and the food was great. We had a bunch of appetizers and they were all excellent. Around the table we had the Cioppino, sea... More

Guests and newspapers have said it all but I need to say it too.Magnificent. Impeccable service from a tuxedo clad wait staff, demanding owner on the prowl, historic ambiance and...phenomenal food. No wonder there are reviews from people who have been going here 50 years. Seated in front of the crackling fireplace and watching roast duck being doused with brandy and... More

Horrible fruit flies all over the bread. Was told nothing could be done about it. Should close and be exterminated. Over priced. Do not order the lobster tails. Never again !

We had a friend visiting from out of town and have driven by this location several times with a desire to go. The restaurant did not disappoint. We arrived early for our reservation and they willingly seated us. The location is lovely and easy to get to. The restaurant is well apportioned and you'd don't feel shoe-horned in like some... Sometimes you just want white table clothes and flambeed duck. Such is the meal at the Ship Lantern Inn. Enjoy it.

Mike Foglia continues the tradition of delicious food and amazing service that he learned from his father and grandfather. The perfect spot for a quiet dinner with someone special or a joyous celebration with a large group!

I felt that I'd stepped back in time 30 years, to dining-out when I was a younger woman. The feel of Ship Lantern is that of a place a bit lost in time. A bit formal, a bit old-fashioned. The service is lovely, the staff warm, friendly and professional. No fault there at all. The food was good enough, and... More

Visit the Hudson Valley around Thanksgiving & Christmas & this is our "go to place". This year we are here for a bit in the summer and had dinner this past Saturday. It is amazing as they continue to serve such quality food. My husband had a fabulous Salmon and my Flounder was of the same quality as well.Look forward... More
