Why fix something that isn't broken? Alobar used to be great but they decided to "switch up the menu" and it was a total flop. The breakfast "tacos" are the size of a large potato chip with minimal egg. After eating all FOUR baby "tacos" (which showed up cold with a small hair on the plate) I left hungry, my... More

First time to this place, my daughter invited me during a visit to NY. We were surprise there was music and is because they have live Jazz on Thursday's, for me was a great start. We tried the Chicken Liver Patte for appetizer and the Half Roasted Chicken and the Hanger Steak for entree. I'm normally a steak guy but... More

Went to restaurant next door but wanted good beer. This place has "decent" beer and very high prices. I ate at the bar and did not eat much but paid 130 dollars for 2 people. Too much for what we got. Bar tender was not knowledgeable on beverages.

Brunch was great, warm welcoming atmosphere, wonderful creative food. The maple bacon popcorn was a perfect appetizer. And it's always good when you ask for crispy fires and them come out crispy... I would definitely recommend Alobar....

Visiting NY, staying in LIC, after visiting Manhattan all say decided to stay local for dinner. Everything was great - both food and service. Enjoyed the pierogies, the pork dish and an alobar for dessert. All great. Good stop in LIC.

I ate here recently while visiting family in the area. This was a fun evening. The combination of small plates and larger entrees really lends itself to a group. Our party chose a number of small plates and two larger entrees. The food was interesting and we particularly enjoyed the octopus and pirogues. Indeed everything was great. The service was... More

Stopped by for a casual dinner. We had been here a while ago and were glad we returned. Service was excellent and we were allowed to pace meal to our wishes. Shared an appetizer and the steak which was cooked a perfect medium rare. Enjoyed the dinner and wine. We then shared a Chocolate Hazelnut Bread Pudding with a Double... More

We had dinner at Alobar while visiting our son in Long Island City. It has a nice relaxed ambiance and is not too noisy. Very comfortable. We started dinner by sharing the Maple Bacon Popcorn. Even though I do not go out to dinner to eat popcorn, I have to admit it was spot on as a summer nibble. We... More
