We spent two nights here as we enjoyed it so much, the accommodation being quirky and fun. Nothing was too much for our host and her helpers and the surrounds are really very pretty (once one overlooks the rubbish on the sides of the road) - this is South Africa folks. We had fresh delicious crayfish tails with garlic butter... More

We were staying at Umngazi, and went for a drive around Port St Johns. Lots of places to go but apparently 2nd beach is the nicest place to visit, and we stopped in at Delicious Monster. The owners have been in PSJ for 20 years, and their magical home and restaurant are a great venue to spend a few hours... More

We visited for lunch and despite being advertised and recommended, the place was closed with no one around. Check by phone before driving out to the restaurant.

It' s a nice restaurant in the hills of Port St. Johns. Clodsed in thefternoon. The foodie fresh made sot might take a little longer to get it. Just a few dishes but we were satisfied

We had the mini meze platter as starter and the queen prawns and shawarma as main course. It was really delicious ;) and you have a nice view over second beach. The place looks cosy and well organised. The personnel is very kind as well. We really recommend this place.

Having visited Port St Johns for the first time in December, my other half and I were keen to see what the local restaurants had to offer. We ventured out of our riverside lodge and through the town with The Delicious Monster (TDM) as our destination. Whilst the town is accessible by any vehicle, I would suggest a 4x4, SUV... More

We had breakfast at Delicious Monster on the way to the exotic silaka beach. The Bacon egg and cheese toasties were very good. But add their unique homemade sweet chilli sauce and you have the best sarmies ever!! We bought 2 jars and will try to figure out the secret ingredients... or maybe we'll just come back for more!!

Great hidden gem with wonderful sea views! Don't be discouraged by the gravel road, it's worth it. The only place in PSJ where we could find fresh fish, in a backpackers setting with a wonderful atmosphere!

Lamb shwarma - tasty but lamb a little tough. Monster burgers- Burger meat not 100% pure meat (hopefully the other stuff was just soya!) Prawns - average. Backpackers style restaurant with reasonable service and good views.
