We try to stop every time we travel between Baltimore and Potsdam - we have never been disappointed. In addition to excellent food, they also sell local honey - we especially like their buckwheat honey. They accept *cash only.*

We stopped in on a snowy Saturday afternoon for lunch, it was the perfect cozy spot. Good food, fun and friendly waitress. There were 4 of us, 3 had lunch and 1 had breakfast. Delicious burgers! Then there was HOMEMADE PIE!! No room after the hearty meals but we did take two slices to go!

We were just passing through. It's an old fashioned real diner. Not the funky one that is glitz led up on red and chrome to look like an old fashioned diner....this was real. Not fancy - a mismatch of old stuff, clean and pleasant. Staff are very friendly. Food is old fashioned (think hot roast beef sandwich with gravy). Wouldn't... More

We have been for breakfast many times. Delicious and perfect eggs cooked to order. Frittata is also awesome!

While traveling we dropped in here for lunch. What a pleasant, welcoming experience! The food was homemade and simple ... and REALLY good. The chicken/corn chowder was so good I almost had a second bowl! The waitress was friendly and addressed her "regular" customers by name. I felt like we had stopped in Mayberry for lunch. I love this diner... More

Small cafe that has even more limited parking. The staff was very friendly and personable. I was bummed out that I could not use my credit card - almost a must for business travelers. The food was good and fair in price. Menu is small and contains quite a bit of deep fried items.

We happened to be in Lafayette on an errand and found this place well-recommended on tripadvisor, so decided to try it. While it's nothing fancy, the service was great and the food was just fine (we had lunch, and I'd like to go back sometime for breakfast). I gathered that most of the food is home-made and the portions were... More

We found this cafe by sheer luck years ago on a trip between Baltimore and Potsdam, NY (I think we were southbound the first time). Since then, we have managed to stop for a meal in one direction (or both) every trip. The food is delicious, portions are generous, and it is served quickly! A perfect combination for a road... We time our departures from Ithaca so as to go there. The food is excellent, plentiful and the staff is very friendly too.

I take my kids out for breakfast on their birthday every year, so we're hitting Old Tymes Cafe a bunch of times each year. And it never disappoints. Good size breakfast. We always take something home.
