Visited this local restaurant on 2/14 & 2/21 & both times were absolutely wonderful! The service is top notch and the food is outstanding. Everything is either house made- from the fries, to the ketchup to the salad dressing to the brioche buns to the bread option or farm to table. The dishes are presented very well and food is hot and tasty. They have an extended bar with very special cocktails...something for everyone! A few of the outstanding choices are: Crispy pork cutlet, kale salad (OMG!), the Crispy calamari & chickpeas, the steak and the beef burger! SO good. The servers are very professional and will go out of their way to please the customers, also completely knowledgeable of the menu and cocktails/spirits. You won't go wrong stopping here!

This is an eclectic venue catering to serve locally sourced food in their dishes. The amazing part is that the culinary style of their menu is a fusion of various dishes in a continental style. The staff if helpful and informative on what is being served and maintain a broad knowledge of what is on the menu and how it is prepared. Being a craft beer snob I am impressed by the selection on tap. Do not pass up the tap and spirit menu where you get a small draft with some spirit. I had an IPA with locally distilled gin and if you're a fan of gin get this. If not try another whiskey and brew. We had a large family event here and were welcomed with advanced reservations. In spite of our size the service was superb. Look for this hidden gem on your next visit.

Based on Trip Advisor reviews we decided to dine here for dinner one night during our 3 days in Geneva mid-week. We stopped in about 5:00 on a Wednesday without a reservation. They were able to fit us in, but do suggest that if anyone is coming here they make a reservation. Especially on the weekends. We had the grilled flatbread, Classis Beef burger and fiddleheads and asparagus. Was so excited to try fiddleheads, as the season is rather short. They were great! The flatbread had almond pesto, mozzarella, asparagus, pickled red onions, and toasted almonds. Unique...and very tasty. The place is great-clean lines in a building that was built for this restaurant specifically. It is in a strip mall...but don't let that scare you away!!

We attended the Sunday Brunch. My fear of Kindred Fare came true. The trendy house naked flatbread sausage gravy topped with scrambled eggs and green onions sounded enticing. My wife ordered and was unable to eat it as there is a layer of sausage grease like substance on top of the flatbread and beneath the sausage gravy. I tried a piece and set it aside (I eat anything when sausage gravy is concerned. This creation is the first I set aside.). My daughter’s burger was absolutely delicious. Her French Fries also cooked perfectly. Her Virgin Mary was also one of the top ten. My meal was the croquet Miss Piggy. The buckwheat biscuits were amazing, sausage gravy was unassuming. The potatoes were average. Enough about the food. The sunny side up eggs were rubbery and Ineddible. You can make of that what you will. Service and an observation of staff. We were seated immediately and professionally. Our server arrived about two minutes later to take our drink order. Arrived four to five minutes later with our water, iced tea, and Virgin Mary. She took our order and they were delivered in a timely manner. Our server kept our water and tea full. She never returned to ask us about our meals. What concerned us the most is when our server took our plates (we were done eating) she never made a comment about the more than half eaten meals. There were at least two young women that literally hung out at the kitchen window. One actually laid her head down for forty-five to sixty seconds. Not one time did a manage type person present themself anywhere anytime. Our takeaway is, we will not return.

In a location just off the main road, we passed the entrance and had to double back. Look out for it. We were seated immediately and the drinks quickly followed. Some of the non-alcoholic beverages were very intriguing and nice on a hot day - the matcha lemon iced tea. We ordered the arancini with underwhelming seasonings to complement the goat cheese; the ramp pesto flavor was too subtle to describe or taste. The crab cake salad was good, comparable to other restaurants. The atmosphere was a mix of trendy yet understated. The server was attentive but no encouragement to tempt us with alternative or additional dishes/drinks. It was a nice experience.

Visiting town during holidays. The hotel recommended it for a casual dinner. The decor is urban industrial, hard surfaces, no warmth. The service was on the surface friendly but very rushed. The waitress made us feel like we had to order, eat and go, then we read the menu section that reiterated it! It explicitly states parties of 2-4 should complete their stay within 60-90 minutes to make room for other diners! We would have ordered another drink but our check came with no option to order another. We paid and asked if we could go to the bar for another drink and the waitress said we'd need a reservation. Bar seats are reserved just like tables. We left scratching our heads. The restaurant on a Saturday evening at 630pm was less than half full. The food was creative, expensive for the portions, $ 24 for a hamburger and fries, but very tasty. The speciality cocktails were also creative. If you're into trendy atmosphere over a welcoming environment, give it a try. If enjoying your dinner out with a loved one is on the menu, skip it.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review and we are happy that you enjoyed our food. While we can't agree with your service feedback, it was your experience and we are sorry that you did not enjoy your time with us. In our defense you only ordered one course with 3 drinks each and consumed them within 40 minutes. Generally a table of two is given 1 hour and 30 minutes of dining time, and we are ALWAYS accommodating if our guests need more time. You left after 50 minutes when you could have stayed 40 minutes longer and ordered more drinks. That was 100% on you! When we asked if you wanted any dessert or anything else after your meal, you said no. Naturally any server would drop the check, the guest would pay and then depart. Or the guest would say they want more drinks, the server would get them and bring over a new check. It's very simple, and we would have done that for you if you asked. Your server actually told the manager that you were very nice and easy going, so this review is a little confusing. You paid for the check and asked your server if you could go to the bar. She politely told you that you would have to check in at the host stand as our bar seats are indeed reservable, as we only have 10 seats. The server told the host that you would be coming up and they were getting ready for you. Had you actually checked in with the host, as opposed to just leaving, we would have brought you right over to the bar, as there were two seats available. We truly are sorry for any miscommunication during your time with us. Shall you choose to visit us again please let us know and we will make sure we understand your dining preferences so that we can best accommodate you accordingly. We would love to have you dine with us at a table and then finish off the evening with cocktails at the bar. We wish you all the best and happy holidays!

This only gets 3 stars because of the food. The service was crappy. Our server was rude and dismissive the two times she came over. We had a late reservation and were told an hour into it that we could no longer order anything because they were closed. For a $400 meal we got $10 service that I would expect at McDonald’s. Being a table full of servers and an owner of a restaurant we were all very understanding up until we were told we couldn’t order more. The food was great. Everything else was terrible. Not at all worth it. I definitely will not be recommending to my customers.

Hi Gracie! This doesn't sound like our restaurant at all, but we would love to know if this situation did occur with the server in question. Since you are in the industry a direct email would have been nice so that we could have solved this issue like true hospitality professionals. It's not too late if you want to send us an email. We would be happy to talk about your experience and correct any issues with our employees. We appreciate the feedback and look forward to hearing from you.

Geneva is reasonably close to home for me, and I've heard good things about Kindred Fare. When a friend suggested we go, I was happy to say YES. The restaurant is at the top of the hill on the west side of Geneva city, off of Rt 5 & 2, near the intersection with Preemption Road. It is tucked down in on the north side, so pay attention if you're looking for it in the dark. Once you find the driveway parking is easy. IF you pass Tractor Supply, you went too far (coming from the east) They offer what appears to be a standard menu and a couple of specials. I opened for the Matzoh Ball soup (I'd never had it) as my start. Four golf ball sized dough balls, in a very savory and beefy (? loaded with umami) broth. It was quite good, but I can't compare it. My friend ordered the crispy Calamari and it was delicious, served with a pickled pepper & onion salad and roasted chickpeas. She was generous with sharing with me, THANK YOU. We also shared the Kale Salad, which was also quite good. I'd not paid attention to it on the menu, and took me a bit to figure out Feta Cheese as one of the ingredients; not overpowering but subtly there. The kale was both crisp and tender. There was an episode of forgetfulness; while we'd assumed the salad would be served before the main course, it wasn't. When we mentioned it, "OH, I'll bring it right out" which wasn't maybe the best answer; we opened to enjoy the salad after our main course. I chose the daily special pasta, Rooster Combs, with sausage and broccolini, I did not finish my very generous serving since I was already full from the soup, and calamari, and knew the salad was yet to be served. The take-out box made an excellent lunch. My friend chose the Pork Chop, again from the daily specials and it was perfect. Just cooked thru but still tender and juicy, served with some squash rounds and mashed potatoes. She made the better choice, and that's saying a lot, given how good my pasta was. I 'forced' myself to choose the Hanukkah Cookies, four very good pastries: two big Macaroons and some Ruglach. She choose the Vanilla Ice Cream, it is restaurant made, I'd say, and delicious. I had a glass of Pinot Noir, she had a mocktail. Service was prompt and efficient (the salad faux pas really was minor). Kindred Fare is a modern place, in a small strip shopping center. I'd guess that the restaurant portion of the building was purpose-built, or very extensively remodeled into the stylish venue it is. Dinner as described was close to $200, not cheap eats, but worth it.

3/5 because the food was fantastic. it ends there. service not great. she did her job but wasn’t very welcoming. any questions we had kind of felt like we were annoying her. we had a late reservation and wanted dessert and drinks after having a serval hundred dollar check already and they were so rude to us about it. server, bartender and manager all dismissive and couldn’t have cared less. employees drinking at bar but wouldn’t serve us because “the bar was closed” ISAAC (bartender) said he would make our drinks finally and when we told him what we wanted he said “no, i’m not making those” really rubbed us the wrong. Sad because this place could be really good, sucks the service is bringing that down when the food is that great.

Hi there! Thank you for taking the time to review us. Since you are in the "industry", working at a local restaurant, we would have appreciated another form of communication to let us know about your experience. We are looking into the situation, but would love a direct email so that we can find out the night you dined with us, and address the staff in question appropriately. As hospitality professionals in our region we should be more considerate to the hard work and dedication we put into our businesses before posting negative reviews online. Feel free to email us anytime. We would love the chance to make things right.

Tucked into a strip mall this restaurant services hotel folks (consultants??) and has a hip vibe about it. Menu a nice mix up of items but nothing WOW'ed us. Yes, solid. Entree came out within 4 minutes of ordering (always kinda weird) and they were not busy. Lots of different wait staff. We'd go again but there are so many other places to try!!

The atmosphere in the restaurant was eclectic rustic Very inviting. It is a bit difficult to locate. It’s located in front of a Holiday Day Inn express in a strip mall. The prices are high, but you are in a popular tourist area. Our server was pleasant and attentive. They do a 2% hospitality charge. This is common tactic restaurants use now to inflate their prices which I feel is in poor taste on the restaurants part. A 2% hospitality supplement will be added to all guest checks to help our restaurant provide competitive pay & benefits to our hardworking employees. This is not gratuity. If you would like to opt out, please let your server know, no questions asked. Joes’s Friendship fries were excellent. The flavors were excellent. The smaller portion was perfect for sharing as an appetizer. The flounder-scallop special was very good. The meal was served in a rocky cheap metal tray rather than a plate which makes it difficult to eat. It did not provide the aesthetics they were wishing to achieve at all. The plum and prosciutto flatbread flavors did not work well. The prosciutto was sparse and over cooked. I could not taste the smoked cheddar flavor at all. The plum was overpowering. Found myself I wish I would have tried something else from the menu. If in the area, I would try the restaurant after checking out their online menu offerings and prices to see if it fits your tastes and budget. I do think while the food is good, the restaurant may have some undeserved hype.

Thank you for visiting us, and for your feedback! We will make sure to share your experience with our team. Please know our menu changes multiple times per year and we are always trying new things to support our local farmers. Sorry that some of the flavors were not to your particular liking. Our concept is casual, and also meant for sharing, as our portions are large. Certainly, you must have looked at the menu ahead of time to view prices and see our hospitality supplement. Most industries, especially restaurants with very tight margins, are dealing with the challenges of extreme inflation and the higher cost of doing business post pandemic. Fees will be part of our economy for a while, but hopefully things will even out soon. The restaurant industry as a whole is changing very rapidly, and we are all working hard to adapt in the best way possible. We pay all of our team a livable wage with benefits, which speaks volumes to why we are staffed and can provide excellent service day in and day out. Shall you wish to learn more about the industries state of affairs, we are happy to share more information with you about why we charge this supplement. Email us anytime at contact@kindredfare.com We hope that you give us another chance on your next visit to the Finger Lakes, and that you will have better luck with your menu choices. Please reach out shall you visit us again, and we will make sure we do something nice for you to make up for your flatbread. Safe travels.

Our group of 6 friends dined at Kindred Fare during the last night of our "girls' getaway." The service was fabulous. The friend who made our reservation commented that they were the most accommodating restaurant when she asked about outdoor dining, and the restaurant even called us the day of to confirm we still wanted outside seating. Our server was very friendly and attentive. The Friendship Fries (which she recommended) were DIVINE!!! Great ambience and extensive menu of wine, beer, and cocktails. We'd definitely go back!

Whether you are picking your food up for take-away, or if you are stopping in for a cocktail or meal, KF gets it right every time. We live a good hour away and it is always worth the drive to have a delicious meal and thoughtful service. If you are passing through the Finger Lakes, be sure to make a visit here. They have a great cocktail menu and a wonderful wine list of local FLX wines, as well as interesting counterpoints from around the world.
