Great fried chicken!

Stop by 5his place and boy am I glad I did. Perfectly cooked fried chicken, great sweet potato fries and fried okra as sides, and a huge corn muffin to top it off, all at an incredibly reasonable price. I have no clue why anyone would visit the KFC down the road when this place is close, less expensive and far, far better.

A Hidden Gem

Food was excellent. I ordered the whole wing dinner with fried okra and crinkle fries and my husband ordered the haddock dinner with greens and fried okra. No complaints at all. Food was fresh,seasoned well and hot. They cook the meat to order so be prepared to wait but it is well worth it. The owner and his wife are wonderful people. He also builds tiny homes( in case you need one) and showed us his latest creation. His story is amazing from buying a small hotdog stand and building it out with his own hands. Portions are large so be prepared to take food with you. The owner even gave us a sample of some food he was cooking(chicken and rice). Everything tasted like mom’s or grandma’s cooking. Note that the greens do not contain meat( based on the request of prior diners) but were still seasoned well and tasted great. The sweet potato pie is delicious, the slices are huge. This is a hidden gem in Geneva.

Great food & wonderful hosts!

What a treasure! We were a large group - 16 - and they could accommodate us. The food was amazing! The fried chicken was delicious & ribs were spiced just right. Others raved about the pulled pork & potato salad. The friendliness & hospitality of the owners was off the charts! They are a delight & we had a wonderful evening!

Both their website and Facebook page fail to mention that they are closed for the season. Went by today, even after checking online to double check only to find the site closed up tighter then a drum....... Oh, well, maybe next visit to the region.

A good first visit, we're glad we went and we will go back

We drive by Redman's fairly often, but haven't tried it. We've said "Let's go there" more than once too. Now we've been. The server, who was friendly & funny, started off by telling us "We are closing after tonight for vacation, so there are things we are already out of." "OK, what DO you have?" Ribs, Fried Chicken, Corn Muffins, Okra, Collard Greens and a few more specialties. And note that the menu offers lots of combinations (I can't wait to go back and discover what a "RIB DOG" actually is!) and a variety of pricing schemes. So I am a RIB Person, and a discussion of Half Rack and Full Rack ensued. NOTE, for the record, my kids used to raise 4-H market hogs, and we've had more than a few butchered for our own freezer, a full rack (one side) is usually 16 rib bones, some are 17 or 18, and some maybe only 15. Anyone who is serving a few ribs as "half rack" is cheating. Redmans ISN'T Cheating! A full rack there is 10 bones, a half rack is five. But these are not baby back ribs; these are full sized hog ribs, not trimmed to take away lots of the meat. In truth, I would have been STUFFED FULL on the five rib portion, and they were good. ( took home the extra for today) Sauce is plentiful (too plentiful in my opinion, when I return I'll ask for "light sauce" but it is good. Not too sweet, not too spicy, actually delicious. The ribs were meaty, tender and juicy. NO COMPLAINTS, and they have a huge pile of napkins on the table. More Opinion here: The best BBQ comes from the pit, and sauce is a condiment, used to enhance the pit's artistry. Redman's deserves a 2nd try when they are in Full Swing. My Collard Greens were perfect! Her Fried Okra was real good too. She chose the Fried Chicken, a drumstick and a piece of breast. It was good, but we both agreed the ribs were better; she took one for the team to see how the chicken compared. They offer desserts, but since I did not clean up all the ribs, I could not try any. Two minor quibbles: The water in the men's room sink did not work and there was only cold water and no soap in the woman's room. After a meal of finger food, you really do need to clean your hands. and #2, there are three or four Clothing Donation Bins adjacent to the parking lot. These bins are NOT a part of Redman's, I presume, but they were all stuffed to overflowing, and should have been collected long ago. THAT is on whom ever placed the bins there. We will return, later this summer.

Great little spot! Great Food!

Not only was the greens potato salad homemade it was amazing!! The music was spot on and the food is fantastic thanks for having us. I highly recommend taking the ride off of I 90 to eat at this place.

Great local BBQ and Fried Chicken

The owners are about the friendliest people you’ll meet. The pulled pork, ribs, and fried chicken were exceptional. A friend ordered the fried catfish which was the surprise hit. The main courses were all very good. Very casual place. Standard BBQ sides were all underwhelming. But Overall I would recommend!

Good fried chicken

Really good fried chicken & the ribs were good too! Sides were average. Owners were very friendly, you can tell this is a family run business! You order as soon as you walk in and then can sit at a table or take your order to go. Fried chicken takes 20 minutes, but it was delivered piping hot and crispy! Leftover chicken was delicious the next day.

Delicious, Homemade, Love in a basket!

Can't say enough good things about this gem. Best barbecue we ever had hands down! Cozy, great music, friendly staff (they even stayed open late for us). Can't wait to visit again!!!

Amazing BBQ and Chicken

My son and I were in Geneva and went to Redman’s for dinner and it was wonderful! We are from NC and love BBQ and my son said this was the best sauce he had ever tasted! The friendliest service you could ask for and just simply delicious chicken & ribs! Thanks for a wonderful meal with my son!! We will be back!!

Good BBQ and Fried Chickenin Geneva

We were looking for something different than the usual burgers, pasta, pizza... Redman's fit the bill. The food was fresh and hot. Tasty ribs were fall of the bone tender with a good tangy sauce. They fried chicken was crispy and moist. We had mac and cheese and collard greens for sides. Tasty and filling. Nothing overly salted! The chicken is cooked fresh and takes 20 mins. Informal atmosphere, charming owner.

Happy Accident

We were actually headed to a chain restaurant but got turned away by crowd. So glad we did! Don't be misled by the unassuming exterior because a great feast awaits once you get in! Had fried chicken, ribs, mac n cheese, and pulled pork. Left absolutely stuffed! The chicken was fresh, crispy, juicy and so full of flavor. Ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and the sauce was uniquely flavorful...definitely not out of a bottle! Pulled pork was succulent and delicious. The mac n cheese is just that....tender macaroni bathed in a thick blanket of ooey gooey melted cheese...REAL CHEESE! In short- get here as quick as you can...your tastebuds deserve it!

Looks great but average. A bit disappointed.

This is our first time. We order the full slab of ribs ($40 bucks), meat only no sides. Ribs were somewhat cold. Meat not tender. Sauce was okay, not much flavor. In addition, ordered 2 small corn breads and small mac salad ($11 bucks). Corn bread okay, bit dry. Overall not cheap. Owners are great folks. Ribs not so great. If I go back, will try the fried chicken instead. Facebook posts praising the special deals on the chicken.
