we had another delicious lunch at this multi generational genuine German restaurant. getting there, with the stunning scenery, is as nearly enjoyable as the food, service, and atmosphere. we had vienna schnitzels, kid's meal accompanied by what was described to me as a delicious pasta. the German beer was refreshing, and i followed with their Apple Strudel, a la mode,... This long standing establishment has an outstanding reputation. Been going over the years and it is consistently good! The German food is excellent! Have tried several items including steak and was pleased. Always happy to go back. You can only make reservations if there are six in the group!!! Can be a problem. Evenings ..there will be a line......

Wonderfully located between the Minnewaska and Mohonk parks, and New Paltz. Nice place to eat after your hike at the parks, and before shopping in New Paltz.

We've been eating here for many years. As you would expect, the German food is excellent, but there's so much more. The CIA trained chef has added many inventive dishes to the menu, featuring locally grown products as much as possible. The third generation of the same family is now managing the restaurant and the place has a very casual... More

Great german food with a great atmosphere. Love the weiner schnitzel and red cabbage and the sauerbraten. Always a busy place so sometimes a long wait.

I came here with my friend, his girlfriend, and his girlfriend's parents after a day out upstate. The decor is traditional German, as is the menu. Despite the very casual atmosphere, the staff is warm and professional. The food is plentiful, delicious, and even somewhat refined. There is an excellent selection of Bavarian beers. Highly recommend.

Been here many times. I always like the place however I thought the Saurebratten was dry on my last visit. Next time I may try the vegetarian entree. It always looks interesting.

We came here during a recent weekend getaway and was not disappointed. Everything was as good if not better than meals we've had in Berlin. Get the veal meatballs with spatzle appetizer. Service was swift and friendly. Go early to avoid long waits.

If you like German Food you will love the Brauhaus. Go early or off season to avoid crowds and a long wait for a table.
