We shared lunch with some friends at Joe's Shanghai - it was recommended to us by one of our friends who is originally from Shanghai, China. Since she spoke the native language, she ordered everything. The food was delivered promptly and tasted delicious. There were some local dishes that only the 'mandarin speaking' could order. They were dishes not normally... More

We recently stopped by Joe's Shanghai when we were shopping in Flushing because we read the positive reviews on Trip Advisor. Unfortunately we were underwhelmed with our late lunch . Maybe we ordered the wrong entrees- the Singapore Fried Noodles were so-so and seemingly seasoned with sriracha sauce, the salt and pepper fish was crispy but bland. Their star dish,... More

My cousins live in Flushing so I met up with them here for dinner. This place is a huge improvement over the Chinatown location (can't speak for the Midtown location, I have never been there). The dumplings are larger than they seem at the Chinatown location. The wait was overwhelmingly shorter. The wait staff was very attentive. And overall the... More

You may avoid the long wait during off hours 2-6p.m. on the weekend or go on a week day. Other than their famous mini steamed buns, the cold dishes are delicious as well. However, tasty food are usually done with lots of oil...

There's always a long wait at this location unless yo go during of-peak hours. The soup dumplings are among the best in NY and are worth the wait. The scallion pancakes and chicken pan-fried noodles are also family favorites. There's a municipal parking lot diagonal from the restaurant or metered street parking on the rare occasion you can find an... More

If they ask you how many dumplings you want make sure you understand what they are talking about. We ordered 4 and they brought 4 orders of 8 dumplings! Very good but entirely too much food

Joe's Shanghai is the place to go for dumplings and just about anything else Chinese. We arrived around 9pm on a Saturday and waited about 10 minutes to be seated. The wait-staff was very pleasant and attentive. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Keep in mind, they are cash only and add a 15% gratuity to the bill "for your... More

I keep reading about places, including some in the Main St area, that have better soup dumplings than Joe's. I try each and every one and each and every time I come back to Joe's for the only soup dumplings close to those offered in Shanghai itself. Many locals agree. The "Main Street" area is at the end of the... More
