Here is an honest review of this restaurant. skirt steak-excellent, pickled eggplant-good, crochettes-ok, rice and beans-ok, provolone with salami-good, maracuya with milk-excellent. Service terrible. What made this experience terrible was that the waiter let two men come in and come to our table to beg for money. UNACCEPTABLE!! We kindly declined. I am a native New Yorker and have never... More

I am from Argentina. In all my time living in the US, trying many, many Argentinean restaurants in NYC and around the country, this is the best. Pasta that is truly like that in Buenos Aires. Great milanesa de pollo. Great steaks. Empanadas that are oven-baked rather than the typical friend empanadas common to NYC. Try the dulce de leche... More

While not a romantic venue, the food aways wins. Family atmosphere with amazing food!!! They even have a butcher on site that you can bring some home. Cook/owner comes to make sure everything is up to standard and sooo nice!

An authentic argentine barbecue!! Delicious and the wines and desserts are just yummy!! You need to try this small but quaint restaurant were you are treated like royalty. Dinner for three was $100 which is not bad and this included the tip!!

Although we are loyal El Gauchito customers for their empanada and sandwiches, it has been about 3 years since we sat for dinner at this local favorite. We love this restaurant, the decor and atmosphere, and we love the owners, so warm and friendly. However, our last 2 dinners were negative because of our experience with a female server. So,... Had the combo meat dish. Sorry to say all the meat was Tough which was a surprise. Presentation and service was very good as well as the prices. I'm an American and used to tender meat, this was far from it.

Maybe the locals know this restaurant, but for those not around the area, is worth the trip. Parking is challenging, but the food is worth the trip to get there. The steak is cooked to request and the full and plentiful menu has something for everyone, even if you do not like steak. Service is quick and friendly. There is... More

I bought A LOT of pounds of different cuts off meats (all Argentinean style, vacío, entraña, tira de asado, colita de cuadril, and achuras like morcilla, chorizo, morcilla) for a BBQ I was about to prepare in Manhattan for over 25 people. They were all impressed with the quality of the meat, and I almost feel as if I was... More
