On our most recent stay at the Big Moose Inn during the peak of the fall foliage season, my wife and I were treated like old friends in what has become our home away from home. There are so many great ways to describe the awesomeness that is here in at the Big Moose Inn. From the food in the... More

Wish we could have stayed longer. An impromptu on the way through the Adirondacks. Loved this place. The natural beauty of Big Moose Lake, kayaks and canoes at your doorstep, loons on the lake. Peace and quiet. A lovely bar, a charming bartender, and delicious food, and charming hosts. It all added up to a wonderful stay. Can't wait to... More

While vacationing at our cabin on Big Moose Lake, our family joined us for yet another memorable dinner at The Big Moose Inn. Over the past fifty (plus) years, we have frequented this restaurant many times...and the current owners (Mark and Susan) continue to warmly welcome us. In spite of a power outage at our cabin and thanks to the... More

One of my favorite places to stay in the Adirondacks. Friendly owner and staff, clean rooms, rustic, historic charm. Outstanding food. It is hard to believe that the culinary offerings at the Big Moose Inn are equal to the finer restaurants in NYC or Washington, DC--yet it is well off the beaten path. A great getaway location.

Had not dined here in several years and happy to see current owners are keeping the food up to par. Enjoyed dining on the porch/deck on a beautiful evening. Dinner entrees are ala carte, salad etc extra but dinners came with starch and vegetable. Tavern menu looked very good. Staff excellent!

It was a long drive and the one staffer working lunch was pleasant and did his best to keep up. The food was good.

We don't mind the long trip to Big Moose Inn, the food is very good and the staff is very professional and friendly. A nice wine and beer list with a full bar. There's s pub option if you don't want the dining room / deck option. Make reservations, they do book out frequently

Food was overpriced and not worth it. Great staff however, the food seemed like it was frozen bought and they just added their own flavor to it.

Your opinion is important to us and we're sorry the meal you had did not meet your expectations. We took the calamari you ordered, and found to be bland, off your check. When we inquired about the rest of your meal, you responded that everything was great. This review is also confusing considering that the comment card you filled out... More

If you are looking to get away from it all this is the place. I have been going here for years. The food is excellent. The lake is relaxing and its a nice quiet place away from all the tourists in Old Forge and Inlet.

Came here for a wedding - perfect setting. Guests are given the opportunity to use their boats, play checkers, borrow board games and swim. It's a great spot for a quiet dinner without the hustle and bustle of Old Forge crowd. Our server was hilarious and attempted to use what signs she remembered.
