Summer is short in the Northeast, and beach season is even shorter. Long Island's North Shore is a great place to spend it, but alas, all good things eventually come to an end. The Shack in Centerport does its best to keep that summer vibe going just a little longer. Even though it is not on the water, all summer... More

The shack is alright. I guess the draw is a roadside eatery with tables outside and hopes of good food. The food is decent but not worth the price for eating on the side of a major roadway.

One of the very few places that still represents a casual summer on Long Island . A mile or so east of Huntington town is this open air restaurant that attracts as many Range Rovers as Harley- its picnic table site serving clams, fried foods, good beers on tap, great hot dog. Good for a snack, on a cheap date... More

The shack is such a fun place in the summer. The food is average fried fare but for some reason this restaurant provides a really fun experience.

I love the ambiance. It's nice but isn't great on a very hot day. The problem is that it is super pricey for a burger shack but I guess it's worth checking out if you're in the area and want to check out a decent roadside place a little bit off the beaten path.

This is the "Shack" on 25A, where you get to hear all the traffic. Prices are high for a Shack type atmosphere.

Round a bend on Rt. 25A and there is The Shack on the corner of Stoney Hollow Rd. It is an open "shack" with enthusiastic young folks staffing the counter. Go round to the end of the counter to find menus and the order window. Picnic tables fill the rest of the corner leaving just enough room for pull in... More

Along Rt 25 this summer shack is a great food option when traveling with kids or a group. Food is decent and beer is cold.

Great place to stop with your motorcycle for a quick bite. Food is good, not 5 star but that's to be expected. Beer is cold and clams are good!

We stopped here for wings, fries and 2 beers it was over 32 dollars. The wings were $14 alone. Think it is a little steep for fried food but I have to say the wing sauce was good. They are big pieces of chicken. Pet friendly that is always a plus.
