The view was spectacular, and the young man was an excellent host, very friendly and helpful! Food quality was medium. a cold platter for a main dish at Christmas was a bit of a bummer. from the description we expected something else.

Best find in Gansbaai ! Loved their calamari and chips, i love my calamari but theirs is beautiful! Waitress (Heidi) has a sense of humor and is so helpfull. Definitely worth a visit when here. They are fully booked during season but are willing to help if you do look hungry.

I went in to enquire if there was an open table for our family. I had to search for someone to help. The owner shouted from the kitchen that if I see an open table I should take it but that we would wait very long to be served. I asked if they could keep the table while I pop... More

The service in this restaurant is unbelievably poor. We waited 90 minutes to receive our drinks order despite reminding the waiter three times in a courteous manner. Our food took another hour to arrive although we only ordered a toasted sandwich and a burger. Every 20 mintes when the kitchen does manage to somehow prepare a plate of food a... More

The most hard working barmaid known to man, who is a genius with a shot! Do take the ten shot challenge for eternal infamy on the wall, the Picasso Challenge or a round of Springboks! The most interesting and talented artist owner and the most obliging cook, providing fabulous fresh food with a pretty good steak too! Great atmosphere and... More

Spent some time on the deck overlooking the harbour. Lovely view and great sunsets. Service was friendly and efficient though nothing spectacular. Food was well priced but there are better restaurants in the area. The ribs very average, basted in a regular off the shelf sauce and I found it quite tough...definitely not falling off the bone. Will definitely be... More

De seemans taphuis is a "fisherman" styled bar cum restaurant overlooking the harbour. Service is friendly but not overwelming. Food is limited and average. Prices are ok. On the positive side it was open on a Sunday night when not much else was, but there was nothing overwelming to bring us back.

My wife and I stopped for lunch here. The staff were pleasant but got the order wrong. The hake was nice but the calamari very tough, which is quite unusual in SA. I would say this is a nice place for a beer or two overlooking the harbour but the food is pub grub, not very good

We went here on a previous occasion for drinks, and decided that we must return. So we did. I ordered the Seemans Platter. Mussels were probably undersized, half of the calamari was raw, and the two prawns on the side was.... Uncooked. As in, probably fresh from the ocean uncooked.
