Stopped in for facilities and some lunch. Their electricity was out, so I asked for the restroom. The woman there asked that I buy something, which wouldn't have been an issue, but their electricity was out and I didn't have any cash. It looked like the guy tilted his head towards the door, motioning for us to leave, so we... More

On a recommendation from a friend we decided to stop for breakfast. Although we have driven past this place many times we had never considered stopping. It definitely is "quirky". The place could use a good cleaning. Our table had bits of food left from the night before including a dirty fork. Our breakfast burritos were good and the pastries... More

We stopped here on our way between Chama and Taos, not expecting much, and were pleasantly surprised. The chili burgers were delicious, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. They told us about the old water tower from the days of the Chili Line railway, and took the time to point it out to us. My travel companion is... More

We stopped there en route to Colorado. The restaurant was full, with a couple of tables open. Waiting to see if we could sit anywhere, we should have listened to our inner bells. There was one waitress and she had her hands full. We placed our order and waited and waited and waited. Finally, after observing customers who came in... More

What a great find in the middle of nowhere! Traveling from Colorado through NewMX we stopped at this great, quant restaurant on the north side of Hwy 285. Service started slow but patience paid off as we realized only two ladies were doing all the work and a gentleman was helping out which included sharing some gas for a couple... More

We're the only game in town...in fact, the only food and lodging for many miles. We try hard to be the best. We raise our own beef, pork, and eggs on our ranch. We have a greenhouse and grow many of the vegetables served in the restaurant. Farm to Table fare. How 'bout it? We, now, have beer, wine, margaritas, and Bloody Marias, too. Tres Piedras is surrounded by Carson National Forest with GREAT biking, hiking and horseback riding trails, fishing, camping, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, and elk hunting. March 2013, President Obama signed a proclamation designating The Rio Grande Del Norte National Monument adjacent to our little village of Tres Piedras. This large historic (Chili Line Depot)building was the bar and dancehall for the old Chili Line Railroad with 3500 sq ft of hardwood flooring (and incidentally a roller skating rink and movie theater in it's former life), so we decided that it was time to establish an eatery and lodging in this unique place. In addition to the restaurant, we have a large (upstairs) bunkroom for groups and a couple of downstairs rooms for guests. Of course, we provide meals, a pool table, and Direct TV in the rooms.
