Just about our favorite stopping spot between Gunnison, CO and Silver City, NM. They have a green chili cheeseburger that simply can’t be beat, but we’ve had other things there, too, and all were good. Last March my husband and I and our dog Noche...More

I love stopping an Saturday evenings for live music and the happy hour. Today was an early morning stop on my way to Denver. I had the Depot Breakfast smothered Christmas style with the owner provided sausage. Between the friendly staff and their dedication to...More

Loved getting to know the folks at the Chili Line Depot....the owners Gil and Deb were wonderful! They helped us out of a tight situation and provided us with a tasty dinner, a very generous wine pour, and a clean warm comfortable bed. Awoke to...More

Funky little place with great atmosphere and friendly service. I will come back and try the green chili sometimes but the "smothered in red chili" was very, very disappointing. By no means real NM red chili. There was a thin sauce thrown on top that...More

Trying to be vegan finally, I failed at this sweet cafe, which I love and from where I would love to eat the pork ribs special had I not changed my eating regimen. I could easily try everything on the menu including New Mexico green...More

On the eastern edge of the Carson National Forest, in a small town of abandoned buildings, there isn't much sign of life.  But at the Chili Line Depot, life doesn't just exist, it thrives in the life of Deb, it's owner.  When you run a...More

We're the only game in town...in fact, the only food and lodging for many miles. We try hard to be the best. We raise our own beef, pork, and eggs on our ranch. We have a greenhouse and grow many of the vegetables served in the restaurant. Farm to Table fare. How 'bout it? We, now, have beer, wine, margaritas, and Bloody Marias, too. Tres Piedras is surrounded by Carson National Forest with GREAT biking, hiking and horseback riding trails, fishing, camping, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, and elk hunting. March 2013, President Obama signed a proclamation designating The Rio Grande Del Norte National Monument adjacent to our little village of Tres Piedras. This large historic (Chili Line Depot)building was the bar and dancehall for the old Chili Line Railroad with 3500 sq ft of hardwood flooring (and incidentally a roller skating rink and movie theater in it's former life), so we decided that it was time to establish an eatery and lodging in this unique place. In addition to the restaurant, we have a large (upstairs) bunkroom for groups and a couple of downstairs rooms for guests. Of course, we provide meals, a pool table, and Direct TV in the rooms.
