This place was a little tricky to find but a Hidden Gem! We had the Pork Tenderloin, Tomato Soup, and The Filet mignon. Everything was top notch and very kid friendly. We are staying at a hotel nearby and we got recommendations of here. The Tomato soup was very light and hearty. Will definitely come back if we are in... More

The food was very good and well-presented, but the quality did not align with the high price. Our server was not unfriendly, but he didn't do or say anything to make us want to come back either. The atmosphere was casually elegant, reminiscent of a high-end restaurant a few decades ago. Although we were there on what should have been... More

This restaurant had received good reviews on Trip Advisor, so I expected to like it much better than I did. Byzantium is tucked away in a corner, a block or so from the old Taos Town Square and is quite inviting from the outside. Inside it is much more spartan in appearance, with few tables and even fewer other diners.... More

Nestled on a corner right off the plaza you will find an amazing restaurant. Opened only for dinner. Byzantium has no more than seven tables. This is definitely for food lovers. Low lights, very romantic. Good selection of wines. Don't expect your ordinary fare here. Their dishes of the day will always suprise. Full of flavor and amazing presentation. Don't... More

I recently had dinner here and suggest that you pass on Byzantium. Sure the food is good BUT the portions are small and the prices are out of control. I ordered the filet mignon for $34.00 The side dish, steamed vegetables was boring at best. Not wanting to eat the mashed potatoes I asked for the roasted ones instead. They... More

My lovely Peruvian girlfriend was on her maiden trip to Taos and we arrived starving! After literally dropping( but not unpacking) our bags at our B & B, we went searching for this restaurant. When I found it, the adjoining parking lot was full and I was tempted to search elsewhere . As a friend had loved this place and... More

Repeat visit to this quaint restaurant. The food is simply wonderful and owner/chef Skot Kirshbaum will insure your dining experience there is an absolute pleasure. Mussels and broth were to die for. Amazing beer selection that along with the ambiance and earthy bread made by the chef, made me feel I was in a quaint old restaurant in Europe.

If this restaurant were close to my home town, I'd be there frequently. Every bite (the mussels), the wine selection, the homemade bread...perfect.

Byzantium is delightful: excellent food in a casual environment. We had the beef filet which was cooked rare as ordered. Came back another night for mussels--delish. Wine by the glass was good, but a few choices of New Mexican wines would have been nice. The owner was there both nights and was very helpful. Service was perfect. No loud noise,... More
