The only thing that could make this place more fantastic is if they served wine and beer. Ridiculously delicious and cheap food, easy to get to ( parking is not so easy but if there is a will, there is a way) and a mainstay of this town. Make sure you add this to your bucket list of places to... More

The food is just ok. Nothing spectacular about the food or the chile. Very trendy location though. If the weather is good, sit outside- you'll have more room and be able to enjoy the Taos atmosphere. Prices are decent for the area and portions are fair. Service is good. I would recommend this place to tourists mostly.

We enjoyed the food at La Cueva so much that we had dinner there twice during our visit. Tortilla soup, chicken enchiladas with mole and chili rellenos were all delicious. Service is friendly. Simple atmosphere. Well priced. We ate in the small front room but we understand there is also a larger room behind there so they can accommodate more... More

Ten of us crowded into a back room. Because of dietary restrictions (why would one who cannot eat tomatoes or peppers of any kind visit New Mexico?) ordering took a while. My chicken fajitas with mole was excellent. Servers were pleasant and helpful. Highly recommended.

Don't let the looks or size of the cafe turn you away. Food was the best place we have eaten at in New Mexico on this trip. Both of our meals tasted very good but a little to spicy for us. We ordered the chips with salsa and guacamole. The salsa was different than we are used to but we... More

While walking around Taos we asked for a good Mexican restaurant. We were directed to La Cueva Cafe. It was definitely the right recommendation. If you want good Mexican food with the ambiance of a small restaurant, this is your spot. The portions are plentiful and the prices reasonable. Don't look any further, La Cueva is one for your places... More

What a refreshing evening out. My son, who is a vegetarian, were looking for a place that offered local cuisine with a variety of healthy options. We found both at LaCueva! Gene, our friendly and frank server, spent time conversing with us and truly informing us about the menu. He also talked with us about our home city and his... More

This little, inconspicuous restaurant packs quite a punch as is realized when you receive your food! It is attractive to the eye upon presentation, and delicious to the palate. Jose was our server, and there were others who gave us attentive service, but whose names we don't know. There is seating outside, at the rear of the restaurant. Truly, I... More

We read about this place on tripadvisor, of course, so decided to go for dinner. I had the caesar salad with grilled salmon and my husband had the garlic salmon with vegetables and rice. My husband said it was the best meal he has ever had. There is only seating for 12 inside but they have a nice outside patio.... More

Don't be put off by the location on a busy highway, noisy on the patio, but pleasant environment. We were very apprehensive about eating chili foods in New Mexico. The waiter was very helpful answering questions about their food selections. We ordered dishes with the red chili sauces and were quite pleased with a new found taste. Having eaten Mexican food...
